Still weird to see SMU pop up in these recruiting threads these days.
They've been recovering from the death penalty for almost 40 years and have still done better than Tech.
I didn't see anything that Sark had interest, but doesn't matter because Penn State hired him.
IT posted they're monitoring another situation with an NFL team trying to hire away an assistant.
From the offer board...
OL Brysten Martinez of Gonzales, LA commits to LSU.

It better not be Baker or Flood.
DT offer Vodney Cleveland of Birmingham, AL told 247 he's planning on taking an official visit to Texas.
A former Alabama commitment, he says they're not under consideration right now.

On the open RB position, Scruggs at 247 said he's hearing Chris Gilbert could get promoted to that spot.
He also mentioned Carlos Locklyn (Ohio State) and Kiel McDonald (USC).

IT has Khenon Hall of Baylor as their "most likely" replacement at this time.
Young, energetic guy and a "fantastic recruiter."

Something to look out for down the road as it hasn't been voted on yet, but IT says they're hearing a lot of confidence that the SEC will have a nine-game conference schedule starting in 2026.
From everything I've read since Orphey was hired, he'll take corners and Coach Joseph will move to safeties.
Now they're saying it's "two developments."
Unfortunately, they haven't clarified if that means two assistants.
OTF mentioned in one of their videos today that they were monitoring 2 coaches. Mentioned the New Orleans Saints on the defensive side specifically. Buckle up.
Something changed quickly as IT is now saying they don't expect Hall to be the guy.
Choice having contact with a boatload of top RBs.
I dont feel so good.
The recruiting part of college coaching is killing guys now. Gotta be able to find new young guys that can coach and recruit. And hope they dont have families yet.
I truly believe part of the lure for kids is relationships and know that they care what they can do for you as a player and teammate. NIL then even larger if relationships and feeling you are in the right spot are missing.
You know some kids, who enjoy the coaching and the school part, wont just leave at a relatively minor raise in NIL.
