I don't understand why Tony Parker is hogging the ball. If anyone should be hogging it, it should be Tim Duncan. That lob pass was pathetic. Our defense looks pathetic. Our passing looks pathetic. Parker's taken at least 3 shots this half where he's crashed into people in the lane and had no angle, plus he had the offensive foul against Harris, and these guys say nothing.
So forcing up horrible shots plus getting offensive fouls = good play, and not touching the ball = bad play?

Not much ball movement for the Spurs. I like that they're attacking the rim but only Duncan has had success inside. Parker's clanked some shots late in the 2nd and Ginobli has yet to arrive. 1 made basket every 6-7 minutes won't cut it.
I can only remember 2 open shots for the Spurs. 1 was for Barry at the end of the 1st quarter and the other was Bowen on the baseline after Horry grabbed the offensive rebound.
Credit to the mavs for their shooting. How many drives to the basket have the mavs made?
Spurs D has to be a lot better in the 2nd half. Mavs will cool off. That will be the opportunity for the spurs to come back.

Their swingmen are outplaying ours so far. Howard and Stackhouse have combined for 27 points on 17 shots, while Manu, Bruce, Fin and Barry have a total of 13 points on 12 shots. We need Manu and Tony to quit shooting jumpers and drive the lane. Some defense would be helpful too. Tim won't be able to keep this up for 4 quarters.
Spurs are fine for a team that's had 36 hours before a series while the other team's had 5 days. I was expecting to be down double digits at this point.

This game is right on par. Mavs knew they had to come out big, but those fade away shots wont fall as much in the 4th. The Spurs will keep the Mavs out of the lane and force more contested jump shots. The Spurs were just hoping to keep it close in the 1st half so that the game is shortened and now all they have is one half to win. Now the adjustments will be made and the energy level will be stepped up. It will be close down the stretch, but the Spurs should prevail.
