No mention of Rasho...

SAM MITC
Even though you didn’t win, it was a great game to watch.
Yeah, it was. Our guys, like they’ve done all year, they played hard, they gave ourselves a chance to get back in the game and win it. I thought that three in transition that Steve (Nash) shot, running and leaning, I mean, I can’t think of too many guys who would one, take that shot and two, make it. We got up one and that was just a tough shot. But he’s been doing that for the past two and half years. He made some plays but our guys played well. We realize that Chris (Bosh) played 41 minutes but hopefully he feels good tomorrow and it’s just something that we can build on.
Would he (Chris Bosh) have wanted to come out even if you wanted to take him out?
Well, I didn’t want to take him out and I’m glad he didn’t want to come out. But I thought our guys played well, we did some good things defensively. When we executed what we were supposed to do in that third and fourth quarter, we just had some mental breakdowns in the second quarter with three minutes to go and when we did the things that we were supposed to do, it worked. That’s the thing that we’re trying to drive home to our guys, if we give you something and it doesn’t work, it’s our fault. No problem with changes, but you have to give it a chance. And when we did it, the group that did it, it got us back in the game because that’s a tough team to guard, they have so many guys that can score. We got some stops in the fourth. I’m proud of the way our guys played. We did a lot of good things.
On the zone defense…
We were trying to play zone, make a miss and against that team, to fall back in the zone on missed shots, is extremely difficult. But what we didn’t want to do is when they went small, we didn’t want to try to match that, we felt like our advantage was being a little bit bigger and it helped us on the offensive glass down the stretch. But you have to give them credit, they’re a good team, Steve Nash is a great player. Those guys are good and they made some tough plays and I’m proud of my guys. The way they battled, they played and came and took the lead. I thought Darrick (Martin) and Chris (Bosh) and Andrea (Bargnani) and Mo (Peterson) and AP (Anthony Parker) and all those guys, they just played hard. But not having a time-out at the end hurt us but you know, feeling like you had to take them to just keep ourselves in the game. The only thing more I could ask is if we won the game, can’t ask much more.
CHRIS BOSH
This must be a bitter-sweet return for you…It felt good being back on the court and I picked up where I left off like I wanted to. They just made some big shots down the stretch. We played well in quarters one, three and four but that second quarter was a set back for us.
What did you think of the Steve Nash shots down the stretch?
It takes a lot of guts to take those shots that he (Steve Nash) took but that is why he is who he is. That pull-up three pointer was a tough shot. He (Steve Nash) took some tough shots and when guys hit tough shots like that there is not much you can do.
It looked like the team (Raptors) had momentum in the fourth…
We were just moving the ball and stopping them on defence. We were getting rebounds, we were taking all good shots and that’s how we got back into the game. We knew we could get back into the game if we took good shots. That three-pointer kind of sucked the wind out of us a bit.
How did you feel?
I felt good. There were times that I was huffing and puffing but I’ve worked hard in the past, so that it looks like I’ve been playing the whole time.
DARRICK MARTIN
Thoughts on Steve Nash’s play down the stretch…
That’s why he is the two time MVP. He stepped up and made some big plays. The three he hit on the wing in transition was very big for them. It kept them in the game when we had the momentum.
What did you guys do to get back in the game?
We tried to run a couple screen and rolls and put Amare (Stoudemire) in some pick and rolls. I thought I could get by him (Amare Stoudemire) or create a shot for my teammates. We were able to do that and get into a rhythm offensively.
I guess there wasn’t enough time at the end to run a play?
No we had a play, they just defended it well. Sam (Mitc ) drew up a play that we’ve run a thousand times and they defended it well so you have to tip your hat off to them.
No mention of Rasho...
I don't think he played many minutes that game. If you look through the thread, you'll see that Coach Mitc regularyly praises Sho's play- and with good reason.![]()
Yea! The Raptors won 105-94 over Atlanta.
http://www.nba.com/games/20070105/ATLTOR/boxscore.html
Sho was 3 of 7 from the field, 1 of 1 from the free throw line ( looks like somebody made a three point play) 7 points, 9 rebounds, and a block and assist.
another 6 offensive rebounds game from Rasho.
Rasho is shooting free throws 71% this season.
Isn't that awesome!

Very impressive. 1,2 blocks per game.
The team is making some silly mistakes in the last minutes. That needs to stop.
Seriously- bad fouls, an inbound violation, and now 24 second violation.
I am sure the Wizards have turned up the heat, but still.
Composure guys- gonna need it for the play offs.![]()
I need to stop with the early score posting.
No one gets props until after they win.![]()
My box score thing blanked out..
Fixed.
Why are the Raptors fouling people?![]()
