if any team can claim the ability to be good long term it's the Spurs. second nothing stops him from signing a 3 year deal, in fact it's what I expected from the start.

It depends on who they get to replace Duncan and Ginobili. The Suns have no such concerns, nor would he have to play any C . . . I'm not saying I agree with the notion that they're better set up than the Spurs past next season, but it wouldn't surprise me if he get's sucked into thinking they are.

No way in to get both. Wade would have to be with cap space, and West isn't signing for the room exception.

On Phoenix, they still have a ways to go to create cap room for Aldridge. The trade takes them down to $44.6 million for 8 players. Add in Chandler at $12.16mm plus Booker at rookie scale of $1.77mm and they're at $58.55 million for 10 players. Two more cap holds push them closer to $59.6 million, so need to clear another $10 million to land Aldridge.
