The war is politically expedient right now. It's no different that the Iraq invasion here in the US where "you are with us or against us". Chips will eventually fall where they may.

Fawzia Amin Sido, 21, a young Yazidi woman kidnapped from her home in Iraq by Islamic State terrorists in 2014 when she was just 11 years old, was rescued from Gaza by IDF forces and reunited with her family in her home country.
...
According to various reports, Fawzia was taken from her home in Iraq to Syria after she was kidnapped, where she was purchased by a Palestinian ISIS supporter who brought her to Gaza. She was forced to bear his children, and he later returned to Syria, where he was reportedly killed in an attack. However, the terrorist’s family continued to hold the woman hostage until her recent release.

From WSJ:
Hezbollah and Hamas are paralyzed temporarily and Iran is exposed,” said former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. “Right now, they’re naked, they don’t have the ability to protect themselves. Israel has the greatest opportunity in 50 years to change the face of the Middle East.”
wonder what Israel will strike within Iran.
Lots of choices. Hopefully nuclear facilities are not on the list.
btw, I think this is hubris.
90 million people live in Iran, do Bibi and Gallant really speak to their true aspirations?
ngl, I'm skeptical.
The Iranian government is not exactly on firm footing with the people of Iran so it adds to the complexity.
Israel strikes tend to unify, when there is a calm there is a lot of political unrest in Iran.
Interesting how Hamas have "tunnels" while Israel has "bunkers"
The doublespeak is par for the course
Only interesting if you're 3 years old or a re and don't know the difference between a tunnel and a bunker.
Let's see. Underground subways travel through:
A) Tunnels
B) Bunkers
Multiple examples of subways that function as bunkers
Explain to this re ed 3 year old how you make a bunker without making a tunnel
Maybe some people have a right to defend themselves and others should just wear reflective jackets and lay still so the other side gets the most bang for their buck

Yeah cant imagine this is an iconic photoshop .
Celebrate with smoke in the background during a fight, good military strategy.
tater, tater, leave it for later..
I would be careful with the word hubris after Israel doubles down on almost all military plans and executions so far.
We should all agree, Israel has the strongest military in that region, especially when it comes to biting back and defending.
Iran has been the backing influence of trouble when it comes to attacking, but defending the air? That requires much more sophistication.
If Israel wanted to greatly reduce the ability of Hamas and Hezbollah, now that they have beaten them down; The obvious choice is Iran via destruction of funds, weapons and training.

I think the tunneling refers to the fact that in Gaza they get much needed food, supplies weapons via large network of tunnels that were not meant for passengers.
I mean hamas and Gaza are locked in. Its the only way to transport stuff effectively. It speaks to the desperation in moving material during these conflicts.
Israel can pretty freely move material above ground as the vast majority of missiles being fired at Israel are not accurate enough to disturb military and movement of goods type transportation.
practically all people who are being bombed want to go somewhere underground to survive as the earth soaks up most of the energy and shrapnel. Bunker.
I think this is straightforward. When you use a tunnel as a bunker its usually because people dont want to get hurt.
It seems obvious but I might have missed something.
Israeli twitter with some somber news
