Not trying to be a smartass and thank you, but........right over there 12 big books on them blues, and I am on top of todays sound, so............
They have a great sound, bummer they didn't last long.

Lol. Why the didn't I think before clicking.
Obviously you're not into the blues.
The guy is like most, he knows BB King. Can he talk Texas piano blues, nope. Can he talk those Memphis Jug Bands, nope? Can he talk all those blind blues cats from the Piedmont, nope? If I listed a dozen blues cats and asked.....what region do we associate them with.....he has no clue.
Them blues is very regional, its....
Mississippi Delta (all Miss blues gets stuck here)
Memphis (can join Miss as Delta blues)
Texas
Louisiana

Listen guy...I'm an expert in dem blues. Got it? There's a few threads here that pretty much confirm it. I have books...tapes...records....
I can play slide guitar with a nerf ball. I can play harmonica using a straw. I ing have a washboard in my backpack.
Trust me...I know dem blues.
Well then this should be real simple for a blues EXPERT like yourself.
Give me the instrument the cat played, and the region they are most associated with. Now you wil do everything but actually give me what I ask....GUARANTE IT. You don't know and way too lazy to Google .

Her voice was strong and unique. Not to trash their music, which is decent to good; the problem is the actual band is ho hum.
Yeah...I liked her voice. But it doesn't matter how good her band was if they were going to be playing those songs.
If you mean overly simple, that's because the band was not much better than your typical college campus players.

No, I don't mean overly simple. There are plenty of simple songs that I like. And there are plenty of complex songs that suck.
But to me, there wasn't any hooks on their songs to pull me in. That being said, I only heard the handful of songs that were on the radio or MTV. Of those, Zombie was pretty good.
I really never paid much attention to the band but as I said I liked the drums on Zombie. I doubt they're as bad as you think.
