Parker looks worn down and has most of the season. Dude's not healthy and it shows. Sticking Marion on him never worked when Phoenix tried it back when Marion was a crazy athlete.
The Warriors probably have the best defensive personnel outside of the Spurs when they're healthy. If they had a good defensive coach like Joerger or Thibs, they'd be unstoppable.

It's actually a shame Bogut got hurt...
And now O'Neal. I can't see them winning a Game Seven despite how well Draymond Green is playing defensively.
Memphis had the chance and they ing blew it. They ain't winning game 7 in OKC
He's been good enough in the first halves of the series. He has struggled in the 2nd halves. Remember, the playoffs are more demanding but their is extra rest in between games. Especially if the Spurs closeout a series before the other series is completed. Assuming we advance that far, he could have 4 or 5 days rest in a certain situation. He has shown an ability to turn it off and on.
Marion simply makes it harder for Parker on screens they are switching or trapping on P&Rs, he can't turn the corner and use his speed to take advantage of a defender trying to play catch up. Diaw can help with that. He has shot the ball pretty well from 3 and even hit the go ahead 3 in game 4. They have to be much more conscious of how they play the P&R when he is running it with Diaw, given his ability to drive and court vision.
Just cause Parker isn't going 05 Phoenix on an 9 year older Marion doesn't mean all that much to me. He just has to pick his spots and make the best play possible while taking care of the ball.
I think you're also underestimating the Spurs balance. The Spurs have 5 players score at least 15 points in a crucial game 5. The Spurs have explosive scoring role player that could post 15 on any given night like of Green, Beli, Mills or Diaw. The Spurs don't necessarily need Parker to dominate. He could be the 17 ppg, 5 ast. 50% FG Parker and the Spurs would be just as good as if he was the 21 ppg Parker the last couple of seasons.
Yep. Reminds me of Boston losing game 6 in Boston in 2012. Its over before Game 7 really even started.
I'd be interested to see the percentage of teams that lose the series after losing game 6 up 3-2, anyone know where you can find stats for like that?
Just look up percentage of teams that post after being up 3-2. Losing game six is a given in that scenario
Remember Buford being seen scouting this kid before the draft... Thank god Brooks is as terrible as Presti is brilliant tbh... Clock is ticking for OKc tho, 2 years to go until Durant is a UFA...
It was a good run for Memphis but they're done in G7 tbh.
Agreed.
However, if with Curry and Thompson they always have a shooters chance. Though Golden State will get destroyed by the Thunder now that all their bigs are damaged or out.
He knew the series was over if they lost last night. Memphis' best chance now is to start small and play Prince at the four and Allen at the three. Then, they have to hope their smalls find a way to score, Gasol and Koufus have great two-way games and one of Johnson and Miller has a great game.
memphis' best chance right now is to dive at knees tbh, cuz they ain't winning this series![]()
The Grizzlies should put some acne cream on their hands and let Durant smell them. It might keep him distracted for a while.
This was a great series though... lots of OT games, and overall pretty crazy... I actually think OKC will be better for it going forward...
Agreed, OKC got the test they needed. Won't lead to a ring but they'll get out of the West now.
I'll laugh so hard if Grizzlies play out of their mind tomorrow and win it. Not expecting it but wouldn't be shocked either.
That would make the Spurs losing in the first round hurt less but at the same time burn with the force of 10,000 suns.
