agree, but its always a thing to to something like that, after saying he will wait until sunday
so I think, we might wait....but in the meantime we can look for participants for the twist draft
phila should just run the sim already so we can move on to another draft or begin playoff matchups by vote/judgement

This is getting draggy. Start the sim already.
I may have already said this, but count me in for the twist.
who's commishing the twist draft? and please lay out exactly how the teams will compete against each other.
a good way would be to have a playoff bracket, the owners gives 500 words why their team would beat the other, then every GM votes, and we do this until we have a champion. 500 words only please, i dont want to read a novel about some ty ass team that would suck regardless of sim/fantasy/real life
Its the Chieflion commissioner. Ya. I was thinking of the playoff bracket but we need judges. We can't have the GMs vote cause they would be biased. 500 words? A good start but we will need rebuttals.
I got Phila's reply on the simulation. It would be done and over with by this weekend.
And judges won't be biased? That's even worse because a few judges deciding the game will get much more hostile reactions over winning by majority. If you thought the sim got a lot of critique wait until a royal family decides it. Obviously each GM will vote for themselves but that's only 1 vote out of 16 balanced out by their opponent voting for themselves. You want a system where 3 judges are going to tell 16 GMs that their wrong? You don't think the judges will judge favorably for their own teams? What makes that worse is that a few biased/dumb judges can corrupt the game and decide a championship far greater than a majority vote can. A system of majority vote makes corruption extremely difficult.
And why aren't GMs en led to a vote? We're the ones spending time on our teams. 1 GM = 1 vote. It's really exciting tallying up the votes, waiting in anticipation
I'm not in favor for rebuttals out of time. Every GM thinks he's going to beat the other, infinite rebuttals won't change anyone's mind. Each GM gives 500 words once, submitted at the same time (so nobody can reply to each other's points) then we have a winner settled by majority.
I think it'll be the outcome the majority of the GMs will be satisfied with.

the question would be, if we could get really good judges, with reputations that avoid any controversy.
problem with GM's voting is the following:
if someone steals a player right before you or gets to make a trade with a third team, which you wanted to trade with and so on. that could make you (not you, but GMs in general) biased to vote that team to the canvas.
another and maybe even better szenario could be, that you are voting against strong teams, in order to avoid them in the coming rounds.
...hey, its not like we where also rooting for the W's, coz we dont like to play Dallas!
if we can get 3 good judges we should do it with them...if not, I'm ok with GM's voting, but then I will be very quite in order not to offend anyone before the votings (u like that part, arent you?).
I like the 500 words idea, but would favour something like 5 short points...I dont like keyword-writeups either....so maybe 5 points+a max of 500words.
since i'm not ready to run a league myself i'll just roll with whatever ya'll decide
but let's make it so gm's tell the picks in the chat room with 1min time limit. that would still take over 3 hours
I have problems running the chat @ work, but can post picks through the thread like the last draft. Would depend when the draft takes place.
hm, I dont like the chat idea either, as it sometimes kicked me out for nor reason and wouldnt let me in again, coz it thought, I'm still in.
we could do it that way, but should be very smooth, if someone takes a little longer once....especially with this type of draft, its really hard to decide, even if you have a good list prepared.
how many rounds would you go with each session?
btw.: coun me in! I'd love to have the spurs, but if not possible (I guess, there are a lot of people here, that would like to take them...after all its the spurs board), I'd like to take the Zombi Sonics again!
I think mudyez answered your question. Spurs fans wanted GSW to kick out the Mavericks in 2007. I, myself included. Like you said, we don't want to see two pathetic teams fighting each other especially in this game. Besides, the judges I choose would most likely not be part of any team to make it fair and square. Or we could make it a GM a current team game or something.
I agree with the excitement of tallying up votes but what if people who wants their teams to get favorable matchups skew with the results, then there would be no way to decide a real winner. In which case, even the nba 2k9 option is a fairer way to decide this (since it cannot be biased).
To be fair, the judges should not participate in the draft and just oversee each draft round. all in one weekend. How about it? Is this acceptable for everyone who wants to participate?
count me in. i'll take the pacers again.
I will make the thread to start the twist once this is over.
There were other GMs here that I know have the rosters saved and ran the sim a bunch of times.
I'll run the sim if thats cool with everyone. I have all the rosters on my PS3.
This is blasphemy.
Only one person will be happy with the results of the sim. That's the way it is in real life.
If Phila can't run it why shouldn't SA run it? After we completed the final portion of the draft nobody was a clear cut favorite.
ok i talked to Phila and i'm gonna run the Sims tomorrow at 3:00 p.m central time.
. Have to wait another day.
I'm gonna post all the seedings and how it's gonna work in a little while.
So this is how it's gonna work:
I'm gonna run 3 different Sims with the following seedings which i got using randomizer.org
East Seedings
Sim 1
1. Wizards
8. Cavs
4. Hawks
5. Bobcats
3. 76ers
6. Bulls
2. Pacers
7. Magic
Sim 2
1. Bulls
8. 76ers
4. Magic
5. Hawks
3. Cavs
6. Bobcats
2. Wizards
7. Pacers
Sim 3
1. Bobcats
8. Cavs
4. Bulls
5. Pacers
3. Magic
6. Wizards
2. Hawks
7. 76ers
West Seedings
*Now since there are only 7 teams in the West, 3 different teams were randomly given a 1st round bye in the 3 sims.*
Sim 1
1. Clippers
8. Warriors
4. Kings
5. Bye
3. Spurs
6. Rockets
2. Thunder
7. Lakers
Sim 2
1. Rockets
8. Lakers
4. Kings
5. Spurs
3. Warriors
6. Bye
2. Clippers
7. Thunder
Sim 3
1. Spurs
8. Bye
4. Rockets
5. Thunder
3. Lakers
6. Clippers
2. Warriors
7. Kings
Determining the winner
The winner will be chosen using this point system after the three Sims are complete:
1 point- advance to 2nd round
2 points- reach Conf. Finals
3 points- reach NBA Finals
5 points- Win Championship
The points wouldn't add up. You would just get that certain amount of points based on how your season comes to an end. Whoever has the highest point total at the end of the 3 Sims will be the winner.
I figured this would be fair since the team that wins the Championship in Sim 1 could easily lose in the first round of Sim 2 so this will show which team is more consistently making good Playoff runs.
So that's basically it. I'll do the 3 Sims tomorrow at 3:00 P.M. Central Time and will post the results in a separate thread. Good Luck!
