this is the same thought that I had. Every EN article on the spurs is posted here, and trashed relentlessly.

And they have the nerve to complain.
Well a lot of their writers legit do suck when it comes to fact checking....although so does every other major media outlet in the sporting world today. And they do rip off topic ideas(although so does everyone else). Other than that...seems to be a bit of an open season on their guys and there probably are some hurt feelings here.

Well whatever it is...I am sincerely glad I never have to see another stupid Buck Harvey headline again.

Like I say...I wish I could care about this but I really don't...outside of the Harvey headlines which clearly are the work of man who has written to many damn headlines.

At least when Blacky Sherrod got burnt/went senile the DMN stopped attempting to pass him off as a legitimate journalist.

This move is definitely going to hurt the EN more than it will ST....no more instant feedback on their articles or free fact correcting before their articles go into print. And no one is operating under the impression they are the only media game in town.

We have to live by the same rules in the Political Forum..I'm actually surprised no one has said anything before now...actually the two sentence rule can be 'extended' by strategic copying and pasteing and quoting other parts of the article in separate postings..

They're trashed relentlessly because they ARE trash. The E-N basketball coverage is strictly amateur hour since Johnny Ludden left. I don't even care about the lack of sources of good info. They do little to no fact checking on anything. I wonder if they even HAVE an editorial staff.

Just so people can see that these kinds of things are not happening just here or just with newspapers.

    http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtop...?f=32&t=996412

For some time, this guy has been posting links to videos of game highlights, but realgm was contacted and told to stop him.

Kori and LJ should send them a letter telling them that all ideas on this site are copywrited and the Excuse for News Spurs writers can't use any of them as a basis for one of their poorly written articles.

I, whoever it is, post an excerpt and the link for one simple reason: respect.

Tim and the boys over at 48 are good people . . .
all this time, i thought blackjack and 48mins were one in the same.

Express News is always a day late with any info anyway, their fluff pieces pretty much all suck, and they're pissed? They should be happy anyone likes their garbage enough to post it anywhere.

Just noticed how TrueHoop publishes chunks of E-N content substantially longer than two sentences. I wonder if the E-N has tried the fire breathing routine with ESPN yet?

Bottom line is they can't touch the owners of this website. This subject was one of the most discussed in my business law class.

There is precedent in the American common law on cases like this where the owners of a site can't be held liable for what the users post. The only exception is content that is not protected by the 1st amendment which can be banned by the force of law.

Any court of law would uphold this precedent in a similar case and would just ask for users to post the link. At the end of the day, this is truly more publicity for the source than not. It's was just an unhappy attempt to get something out of a successful site.

While the law may be on Kori & LJ's side, the sad fact of the matter is that the EN has a lot deeper pockets and can throw around lawyers the way Mav fan throws around LMAOs. Just the threat of litigation, even if they know they can't win, forces compliance because how many small site owners can afford to hire the kind of legal representation required to fend off a challenge like this?

The E-N wants to be s, fine; they're losing more by not having their linked here than they would have 'lost' by just shutting their yaps or providing more reasonable guidance.

Sad but true, I have bookmarks to EN on my phone and computer, but yet, rarely visit anymore. When I can read sports elsewhere, why bother to read a homer's perspective. If I want to hear a Spurs fan perspective, I'll go in front of a mirror and ask myself or ask another fan.

It's not a knock on EN (like a majority of you all are doing) just another sign of the times.

For news there's all sorts of news websites. For local news, I can hear it on TV and research the rest if I really want to know.

And despite my comments I also agree with you - best thing users of the forum can do is to use links and probably only post a partial paragraph or just one paragraph of the entire text in order to force readers into the source's website. If we all do that, then any lawsuits would be difficult to enforce despite their deep pockets. If courts would allow this to happen then there would be dozens of lawsuits each and every day piling up in federal courts. Almost everyone cites sources in discussion forums nowadays.

Anyone notice how mysa.com now contrives to stretch each article to multiple page views? A typical article now reaches three pages, no matter the word count-- even when it requires unnatural breaks and the carry over of a single sentence.

As needy as I am for Spurs related news, this move is so annoying that I'm disinclined to visit the site.

To be fair, mysa.com is en led to object to the reprint, without compensation, of entire mysa.com articles on this website; but their current formatting is just abusive.

I completely agree. The content is already very weak, but going to this three page format is just ridiculous. Its especially irritating to me down in Brazil when I actually read the content via my iTouch.

You think that is for traffic numbers? Multiple pages, multiple ads, double or triple the revenue?

This is really annoying, I have noticed a lot of websites that are doing this. I thought to myself: "won't google catch on to this?"

Yeah. Really annoying. I can't remember which article it was, but there was one recently where the only content on Page 3 was the name of the author. Wth?
