italie plays catenaccio all the time...10 defenders + the goaly...you can't compare that to a team that actually wants to play football!

Put Buffon on a team like Agentina (which isnt know for a great defense at all) and he would really help them...but I dont think, he would go without more than 2 goals against him trough the whole tournament.

They dont want to do it. At least not until the pressure on them will increase so high that they will somehow be forced to implement the technology. And that can maybe happen when coaches and players will protest and refuse to play. But they will never do that, because they are depending on FIFA. FIFA has the power, they are a very powerful organisation. I mean they can even change the sovereignty of a nation and impose their own rules on a nations law system.

Why FIFA does not want to do it? I don't know. Im thinking it is because if they implement this technology, games can't be manipulated anymore (at least no manipulating like this, through referees and not unnoticed, because it will be clear and teams can appeal on camera footage). I know it's pessimistic, but I can't think of anything else. I can't think of any reason why technology should not be used, other than that.

Some say it is because they want football to stick with their old traditional values and thus not using new technology. They want football to be 'natural' from men, instead of computers, but I dont think that's it.
