Spurs always foot the bill for medical issues with draft picks, even guys who never play for them like Giricek and Javtokas.
Davis Bertans @DBertans_44
This injury makes me realise how much i really love this game!!! #GettingStronger

2 hour workout, most of it lifting, now massage, a little rest and then come back for cardio and shooting... #GettingBetter
He had the surgery July 2nd and he's mobile enough to do Cardio and shooting? Is it just me, or is that massively ahead of schedule? Kobe Bryant had his April 13, and was reported to be doing Cardio with an anti-gravity treadmill on 19 Aug:

Not sure how these 2 players can be compared since both had completely different injuries...![]()

Davis Bertans @DBertans_44 ace3g I'm pretty sure i'll be on the court in the second part of the season to collect the ring and win the Serbian league again!!
With Spurs doing the surgery and the rehab, they will be the one in charge to decide Bertans return timetable which is a good thing. Partizan will be tempted to have Bertans coming back as quickly as possible to help them to win games next season while Spurs only interest is Bertans' long term health. Spurs will surely be very careful and take one or two extra months before clearing him to play with Partizan to be sure he is 100% healthy and has no specific risks of re-injuring his knee.
Men!! I wanted to see he could do this seasn...still pissed about the injury.
Interesting to see that the Spurs have an anti-gravity treadmill. Let's hope for a speedy recovery.
Davis Bertans @DBertans_44 3h Today I started jumping and i ran a little with 75% body weight, then made 83/100 2's and 81/100 3's #FeelingGoodWhenMakingShots
Impressive.
Davis Bertans @DBertans_44
3,5h weightroom... That thing killed me, but good feeling after it and i deserve a day off tomorrow
could it be his brother is better than him?

His bro is only 6'4-6'5 (Davis is 6'10) and older than Davis so there is less potential there.
Not sure how recent this photo is:

This pic is showing Davis a little thicker and more muscular than I remember him being.
He's clearly been working out the upper body while he was rehabbing, compare to 2 months ago (Ace3G posted this image on 18/07/2013:
The kid has something resembling muscles in his shoulders and arms, not just bony bits...
Is all this rehab still occurring in SA, or has he left?
How was Davis Bertans against the 76ers?
I watched that game. I saw a guy named Bertans, but I didn't think it was him. I thought he wasn't supposed to be playing until next spring? If it was him, he looked great.
It was his brohter Dairis Bertans.
It was a different Bertans. Ours is Spurs property, is still recovering from ACL surgery and as you say, not expected back til early next year.
WHAT!

Davis Bertans, the No. 42 pick of the 2011 NBA draft who has yet to play in the NBA, was the leading scorer for Bilbao. Philly will surely be facing tougher players once regular-season action begins.
