Anywhere in the article, did it state DLNA was necessary in streaming files from an iPhone/iPad?
Did you know before I stated that I didn't need DLNA to stream files from my iPhone that you could stream files without DLNA?

no it didn't. It said DNLA is open and will be adopted by most manufacturers, and could possibly become the standard.

take your Apple homer glasses off and read again.
DNLA has been around for a while. I imagine writing software for it could be hard to work with with so many different companies and devices.

the same can be said about every single company who's stocks are traded daily on "rumors"
Apple is specially very secretive about what they do.

Read my reply to him. It's all there in English.
Cuz you don't need DLNA to stream from an apple product to your tv. Again, read my reply to him. It's all there in English. smh
So in English, can you tell me where he said you needed an DLNA to stream to a TV?

Considering - in English - he said that Apple didn't have DNLA I wonder how you could even get that.

You can get DNLA players/streamers for iOS too. Not sure what's the problem.

Dude, for someone who has multiple times in the past few days talked to people about reading something better you sure do suck at reading.

Considering the first paragraph states that streaming from those devices is done WITHOUT DNLA I'm not sure what the you're talking about. I'm not sure anyone else is either.

IMS Research says that Apple is unlikely to embrace an open standard like DLNA. Apple's insistence on sticking with its own proprietary AirPlay system could cede much of the emerging media-sharing market to Android.

what percentage of iphone owners will go through the trouble of downloading/configuring 3rd party apps to stream video?

Isn't the kindle a simple e-reader? Unless it's been bulked up, I don't see how a simple e-reader would scare apple to hurry up an iPad.
Supposed to be a bulked up version, 7" screen and much cheaper. It won't scare Apple unless it sells well during the holiday season. If it does, it wouldn't be unexpected for Apple to have to react to it. Plus the iPad cycle has been about 2 years, so while there's no apparent hurry right now, it's due for an update sometime next year or so.

Cool maybe next El Nono can post an app that reads things for you so that you don't make these errors over and over again, IMO.

The point of DNLA is that you don't have to configure much of anything.
That Apple won't adopt it in the OS doesn't mean it isn't available.

@ the "trouble" of downloading a free app

The point is apple is not supporting it. most iphone owners won't even know this is possible much less try it. that is a fact. The article has a point, you might not agree, but it is not "dishonest"

I actually opted for the WD Live Plus over the Apple TV too, but because the Apple TV only does 720p, which is asinine.

People has been streaming stuff off Samba shares for ages, even before DNLA existed. Becoming a "standard" won't really change that.

Apple won't adopt it because they feel that have a better solution. Even then, there's nothing stopping Apple from supporting it in the future if customers demand it. DNLA (uPNP) and Airplay (Bonjour) are fairly similar tech.

Do you even realize what you post?

No seriously, go back and read what you posted.

    SMH

And no, it doesn't say that you have to have airplay to stream with apple products. It says that to steam to Apple TV you need to use airplay. Does Apple TV have an app store? Does it support DNLA?

Pretty sure the article was in English.

Need help figuring out? I'm sure there's an app for that, Viva.

I know its hard Viva, but focus on the very first sentence.

For Apple iPhone and iPad owners with an Apple TV
You really should be banned from every telling anyone anything about English or reading. Ever.
