Godfather, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars... not better than any of those by a long shot
I'm in the minority, but I ing hate Lord of the Rings. I'd put Batman way over that .

    Godfather, understandable.

LOTR and Star Wars? Get the out.

LOTR is such a pile of steaming goat , that you deserve to have your torn off, stuck in a meat grinder, and fed back to you for even putting it in the discussion.

Star Wars is a classic series, and I love them, but this is nostalgia talking right here. If you straight up released the exact same Star Wars movies today (or even with more up to date special effects), they wouldn't remotely be in the same discussion as Nolan's Batman trilogy. That's basically like saying Bill Russell would still be one of the best players in the NBA today... he was great for his time, and set a standard for his time, and was unique for his time... but today, he is pretty average in comparison to the other athletes the league has. He would still likely be a very solid player, but one of the best? no.

First 2/3rds of the movie was great. The end was .

The female characters were a waste of screen time. Catwoman had no purpose or defining moment other than becoming Bruce's wife.

Ra's daughter was a complete gimmick for the sake of an empty shock-moment. Not only was it stupid, but it took all of Bane's awesome character and reduced him to nothing more than a bodyguard. The movie would've been great if the story had just kept Bane as the guy to be born and escape the prison and become the mastermind the story had us believe he was.

There are other things I could be picky about but these were the ones that really kept the movie from standing taller than DK

This being said... it was a great movie. A great superhero movie... still the best at taking on the serious/dark tone. Could've been better.

Wish it could've been rated R

I agree with you, but Star Wars to me still ranks as a better trilogy.....if the Batman movies stand the test of time like Star Wars has, then maybe.

Only the old Star Wars though, not the other three garbage ones.

Where are you getting this from? How do you know what kind of relationship they were having? What makes you think that she was calling all of the shots?

Perhaps a more classic trilogy, only because Star Wars pretty much was a genre of its own... when it came out, there had never been anything like it, while Batman is a reboot.

In 20-30 years, Batman probably won't continue to be as popular as the original Star Wars trilogy was 20-30 years after they came out, but they are most definitely superior films to the Star Wars trilogy.

haha, what the do you know to say LOTR is ? If your opinion is that strong, I know there's bias in your opinion already.

...and just like Bill Russel, how do you manage to actually penalize something for existing in its time period? If Star Wars came out today, it wouldn't be the same thing. Neither would Blade Runner or of Logans Run. That's a weak argument if I ever saw one.

Ra's daughter is revealed... then Bane gets hit with a missil and poof.... there goes the main antagonist in a matter of one short scene. Now we get to see Batman chase this girl that no one cares about.

He already defeated Bane. The bomb was more important than another fist fight with Bane.

I love Star Wars too, but will also be the first to admit that some of my love comes from nostalgia as well.

Which exactly is my point that it's greatness is fueled quite a bit by nostalgia. Is it a more classic trilogy? Absolutely. Are they a superior set of films than Batman? no.

her revealing herself so suddenly and having Bane get back up to just get killed by a missil was just gimmick after gimmick. I mean... they just got out of a battlefield where everyone had guns. Batman just got out of the batwing. The intuitive writing that made the series standout just all disappeared at the end for that string of moments, I feel

I agree I didn't like Bane getting killed like he did. I would have preferred seeing Batman beat him to a pulp, rip his mask off, and leave him to suffer.

I would have preferred a close-up of Bane for a second or two after being shot. I can see why Nolan went the route of Bane being taken out by Catwoman, though.

smh holy , you're an idiot. I love that movie and even that scene, funny as , but too bad the only characters walking to the mountain are Frodo, Sam, and Smeagol. Every other character is involved in other significant matters, mainly incredibly epic battles and fights. To say the movie is only people walking to the mountain to destroy the ring ignores at least 2/3 of the story

lmao "Nails it on the head"

Yeah, I don't agree with that assessment of LOTR at all. There were plenty of gigantic fights.

Additionally, the movie (and especially the end) was more about Batman getting "redemption" in the eyes of the public and saving Gotham in plain sight of everyone, as opposed to his fight with Bane and Talia. Even though I wanted to see more Bane in the movie, I understand the direction they went in.

No, because my argument makes complete sense. If Kevin Smith wasn't such a little butthurt fanboy he'd have that puking character say exactly what I said, but instead got his insults in with a copout defense by the puking character
