Yep, it's a good wake up call. Our guys have less motivation compared to 2013 since they won the le so a little spark is always good.
Honestly, Pop couldn't have planned it any better.
Meaningless game stat-wise. Not even an L in the record books.
But it's something that he can use to bring them back down to Earth and try to light some fire. Losing to a team that they have no business losing to, while playing the key players all the way through...it gives Pop plenty of ammunition to make sure the players aren't expecting anything to come easy.

- Not fouling when up 3
- Inbound play between the 2 turnover leaders
- Playing Beli 27 min
^ hopefully Messina or Becky bring up that these things may not be good ideas
The only thing that I wish was that you could suspend the account for some number of days, instead of a minimum of a week. But that's just the cheap skate in me talking.![]()
Loved the final few bricked FTs from TP9, Manu in vintage form all the way with old buddy Bellinelli
It is pre-season!
Pop's biggest mistake is letting the scrubs play more!
Finally the Spurs will repeat.
They won the preseason Euro games in past championship years -- then failed to get second the ring.
But this year they got the job done (or not done) overseas and the jinx is lifted!

Should have put in Magic Johnson. No use leaving a talent like that on the bench.
This is Pop's beard's fault. It's bringing back the dark days.

Money Mace for 3![]()
If the spurs get injured going all out in a meaningless game then that would be the travesty.
Just watched the entire game! lol What the was that??
It's like the NBA, Berlin, and the Spurs all came together and wrote the perfect ending to keep everyone in Berlin super interested in the NBA, and we just went out there and did it.
LOL Spurs
LOL B2B Champs
Phil Jackson was right![]()
Pop threw the game Chuck Daly style. Showing his team that they can lose to anyone just like Daly did with the Dream Team. This'll be a great teaching point for Pop.
This was the equivalent of a international friendly in soccer. Lotta players just half-assing it, the other half out of shape. It was hilarious watching the Berlin player's reaction to the win. They celebrated like they just won a championship.
As they well they should. They play in a league, and a country, which has a reputation of not being on the same tier as the NBA, and they just beat the defending and five-time NBA champions. Sure, it was just a friendly, and the Spurs are out of shape and just putting things together in camp again, but let's give credit where its due...this is pretty much the exact same team that just won the Finals, just after a 3-month layoff.
Those players for Berlin are going to tell their grandkids one day about the time they beat Hall of Famers Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker in a game of professional basketball. And they deserve it.
The Spurs are not just playing for San Antonio.
Being the 2013- 2014 NBA Champion vs a non-NBA team, they are also representing the NBA.
I hope they'll beat Turkey.
so are the global games the basketball champions league now? come on everyone was lazy except parker cause he cares about his status in europe.
earliest forum meltdown on record
Did the original Dream Team lose a game?
Why was their reaction hilarious? They deserved the win. They played hard all the way throughout the game and worked hard all the way through. Spurs were complete and utter .
If you were playing on a team and just beat them in any game, anywhere, at anytime after watching their performance in the NBA finals, would you not be excited? Pure ing arrogance from some people around here.
