swann was overrated anyway. the NFL films slow motion catch is like 75% of his legacy
IDK. He was damn good. Agree though that most only remember that one catch. Especially Cowboys fans. But he was statistically a top 10 receiver in his time while having to split targets with Stallworth who was also top 10.

you also have Stafford over Dutch Clark?

Of course Ben's number will be better. He's playing in a time when they throw the ball more. Not to mention Ben's seasons were 16 games where Bradshaw's were split. And don't forget the watered down NFL.
But I'll agree a case could be made for Ben.

You keep going back and forth from stats to "what you see on the field".
    Dutch Clark, hahahaha!!!!!!!!!

Dude, he played five seasons with the Lioins, threw less than 300 passes, ok? What the ?????

There are a few like Bo Jackson, Gale Sayers, Aaron Rodgers, where we can't go with the stats, but they are rare.

Not sure what to do with Swann, no his stats aren't SB worthy, this is a fact. And he did play on a team with a HOF receiver/RB. If he'd been their go to guy, hmmmm? But he wasn't.

    Hmmm?

Actually the best Steeler receiver before Brown was Hines Ward.

I'm pretty sure Ryan is the best QB the Falcons have ever had, unless you want to make a case for Bartowski. The only other options really are Chandler or Vick.

    One more time.

The NFL is not the NCAA, there it's not about winning every game, it's all about making the playoffs. So we will see a different approach early on in a season. So don't put tooooooo much into the first half of an NFL season, sure we do know the Jags suck and the Pats don't but don't think we won't be seeing some changes in the second half, we always do. So slow down a little bit, ok rookies?

What is with you people? Stop...over reacting.....ok? Look, after turkey day, then we do start getting a realistic read on things, ok? So slow the down, ok?

    Amazing~~~~~~~~

I'm watching Memphis playing Tulsa, sorta half assing it when I hear Mack Brown say "he's 6-7 240 pounds and runs like Colin Kaepernick"....he's talking about a guy named Paxton Lynch.

This guy is something else, rocket arm and has some serious jets.

Memphis 59 Tulsa 42 with 8 minutes to go.

Make that 66 to 42 as a RB just broke three tackles to score.

Would ya believe a couple local HS's had a 86-79 game last season?

How about Georgia Tech 222 berland 0.....?

    Then there's.....

An all black HS in Tennessee that was unscored on for three seasons in a row, and......nobody got past the 50 yard line on them.....wow!

Avante your thoughts on "fights in football". In my home state last night two teams (East Mississippi CC and Mississippi Delta) got into a serious altercation because of "running up the score." The score was East Mississippi 48 and Mississippi Delta 0 right before halftime. Then this broke out:

The story that really isn't being told is that the East Mississippi coach called 2 timeouts right before half to try to get the ball back and score again. This is why I couldn't be a coach...I would walk across the field and punch the opposing team's coach in the face and get arrested. Really? Calling back to back timouts when you're up by almost 50 at halftime? The opposing coach needs to realize that this is 19-20 year old kids playing and try not to shame them by running up the score. In the NFL...I'm fine with it. Professional athletes getting paid the big $$$ don't have my sympathy. But, to do this to a teenage kid is unacceptable.

I'm with you on this, kids that age are looking to us for guidance, not a good look being a jerk by embarrashing others. It does make me curious about how that coach made it that far being an obvious prick. That can't be the first time he's pulled that . If I'm the parent of one of his players I'm having a little talk with him about why my son was involved in that bull . I think we can assume this sort of mentality is why that coach is at that level of football.

Ya don't have to try and hold your players back, ya just call plays not designed to score (bang the line) and do all ya can to run time off the clock (stay in bounds, no time outs). , just take your first team out and bring in the second stringers, that makes it real obvious you are being compassionate. If they score, you tried.

I agree about pro sports being different, for the obvious reasons.

Having a hard time finding five solid ATS plays this week, a lot of conflicting trends or none at all.

The only play that stands out is Arizona minus the number. They are a great bounce back team under Arians, they don't lose two in a row, while the Ravens are a mess on the road again. This is a great 'spot" for the Cards.

Soon we'll start seeing games (like this one) where one team has serious playoff seedings to consider and the other is just playing out a season. So we get motivation vs non motivation.

The Chargers were 6-4 as HF's prior to this season, the Raiders as a RD 8-8-1.

The last 4 in this match up.

    2014

    31-28 SD
    13-6 SD

    2013

    27-17 Oak
    26-14 SD

But, the Raiders are 5-1 the last six ATS. So they would be the play but, they are coming off a bye on the road. Have never liked that "spot".

Teams coming off a road loss now at home vs a division rival, usually a good "spot" for them. But, that Charger 0 line is in shambles. So we see way too many...????....for me.

I try to search out 3-5 "spots" where ya can....yes yes yes yep, ok, yep...for one side, we don't see that in this game.

Try an make a case for the Ravens vs Cards, ya can't? There is only one way to go there, Cards minus the points.

I have a betting guide, choked full of the best ATS "spots" for these teams. If a team really sucks ATS coming off a bye (many do) it's mentioned, it's not mentioned wth the Raiders. But, any time ya mess up the routine with NFLers you have to be careful, these pros are very much into that routine.

I'll be damn, in the front of this betting guide is a play they recommend (this was done a year ago) for whatever week it is, would yo believe... Oakland is the best play this week? Well I'll be damn. The Jets plus the points the second.

Well if ya wanna stay a simple little and never learn anything, do the work yourself, ok slugger?

Dude, why be a prick? I have a ton of experience with this stuff, why not pick up some pointers instead of being a little punk?

It's a legit question. You always talk about numbers and trends, but then have some arbitrary "gut feeling" rule about teams coming off a road bye with no statistical backing.

There are simply certain "spots" ya don't really wanna mess with. A team on the road on a Thursday with a back up QB who only had a couple days to get in tune, yet there are no stats on this I know of. A team in a third consecutive road game vs team in a second consecutive home game, yet, no stats on that.

The Chargers are coming off a road loss now back home in a must win situation, the Raiders on the road coming off a bye in a place they don't win often. But we can't ignore 5-1 ATS either. Yep, too many...????

I want to find nothing but...yep yep yep and yep. Not looking for...??????

    Guess what I just found.

The Raiders as a RD coming off a bye week...5-6ATS

So who shines in this "spot"? Denver is 11-3 ATS as a HF. Who totally sucks, Seattle, they are 8-19-1 ATS coming off a bye, the worst in the league. The Packers are 20-10 ATS coming off a bye.

The Seahawks will play the Cards at home coming off their bye, but they are 4-1 as a HF vs the Cards, yep, conflicting trends.

Where did I say anything about a road bye? Why would that matter? You're misunderstanding me.

It doesn't matter what ya did before the bye, I'm talking about coming off a bye, ok?

    Just found this one...

Coming off a bye the Raiders are 1-4 ATS vs the division. Now add 5-6 as a RD, that's a 10-6 trend, but they do have that 5-1 vs SD. Yep, too many...????

Dude, what exactly is it with you? You saw me win 2100 last season in your thread, you are seeing me up 1040 right now, so why do you always challenge me on everything, it isn't real obvious I know what I'm doing? Why not pick up a few things instead of the constant bull , well?
