It's just reality, though, should be expected..

I've disliked watching this team since Tim retired, but now I HATE this team, which is why I've barely watched them..I literally dislike almost every player on the roster..still going to follow them and hope they do well, though, but the current Spurs are like your wife that gained 50 pounds, stopped shaving her vagina and nags you all day..

Still love them and can't leave because of the kids, but I ing hate watching this
This is brilliant. Hairy wife pussy is ing gross.

they don’t need Hayward...they are a much better ram without Hayward
Thanks man. I suspected that might be part of the problem.

Yes all that is true And still only beat the Chicago Bulls team without Portis, Markkanen and Dunn by 1 point, and almost lost the game.
impressive as some people are seeing positive point in this, it is almost as if we had lost to the only team really in tank without three of their best players, it is surreal
    this team is shameful

I mean you can't win it every year but there's no excuse for this roster.

They don't play defense anymore for some reason + all their key players mysteriously suck now..
Surely they'll have their breakout games against the Spurs...

Hope spurs can get 10 game winning streak
at this point I'm already surprised if they string a 2-game winning streak together. Doesn't matter who they are playing, they can lose to anybody

That was a very mediocre showing against a very bad team. They deserved to have the moral loss. I also wish to tank. Playoffs with this team hold no appeal whatsoever to me.
Then don't watch them. You've only been a fan since they were playing the Heat in the Finals anyway. Of course them playing in the playoffs has no appeal to you. Anyone thinking this team with the most winning record in all teams sports (football, soccer, hockey, basketball baseball) for the last 20 years is going to tank hasn't been watching...long.

The Spurs lost for decades before '99 and the fans were fewer and more casual. Winning is fun though and everything changed. We are in a new territory with a team that has potential to improve, but is unlikely to go far in the playoffs. They won a game and it's a good thing.

Tbh, every team on the West looks mediocre as right now. Anything can happen from here 'till the end of the season. Spurs need to upgrade though. This roster isn't going to cut it.
I think he 2017 Spurs could've rang with how the West is this year.

But Curry's return and depending on how Boogie looks it would be the Warriors all over again.

Just finished the game and you really, really cant stress enough how bad Pop has been this season.

I don't know a single coach who has been so ing bad this year.

Davis almost caught them the game against one of the worst teams in the league and Pop kept him in while Rudy on the bench. White hits a big 3 and is immediately subbed out. No timeout to advance the ball there at the end and almost lost on a buzzer beater.

Honestly, if he's coaching to tank, that would make a lot more sense.

What an absolutely ing garbage coach this season. And if you think he's doing an admirable job this year, please kill yourself and stop watching basketball because you're not gonna get better at watching it tbh.

Huh? The Spurs are the winningest team in the league's history because they've never "lost for decades". You can count the number of lottery teams on one hand (and the number of losing season on one hand if you were born near Chernobyl). Where they are now, and where they were last year -- that's about where one could expect them to be before 1990 when Robinson came in. After that, the Spurs won at least 57 percent of their games every year besides that Duncan year. , even in the Gervin years, they were usually able to reach that mark.

Simply bc one disagrees with current approach by the FO and outlook doesn’t mean one isn’t a fan. I am not preventing anyone from eating up the FO plan for this season, ain’t nobody telling me I have to do the same tho. As if you are, appreciate the sentiment but its unnecessary.

By the way, Kyle Anderson has looked damn good guarding Kawhi

Kiwi is still going to get his. He’s a great player and you have to defend him as a team. The Raptors in general are also a great team so it’s not like you don’t have to worry about anyone else there., but you can’t make it easy.

I am really happy for Kyle that he landed in a great situation for him. In fact, I am glad so many former Spurs are playing well elsewhere.

If you think about it, CoJo is playing great for Indiana, Orlando is starting to play better and JSiimms is apparently improving in his return from his own injury, Tony has been a real help for Charlotte, Danny has been great for Toronto, long ago Baynes established himself as a rotation guy in a playoff team etc.

The narrative about these guys were a product of the system needs to die. They were legitimate roleplayers and are thriving elsewhere in good teams and I am happy for them. Meantime Spurs resigning 32 yrs old Marco, Cunningham, Pondexter, etc. Spurs FO could surely have done a better job. Most of these guys left for nothing. Danny perhaps in exchange for Poltl but with Milutinov overseas, Jakob wasn’t a strict need.

I was referring to not winning a championship before 1999 and it taking 26 years to do so. Of course post Admiral days we were greatly improved and it still took almost a decade to win a championship. Point being that if someone finds no appeal in watching this team in the playoffs, then okay......don't watch.

I am simply not sure I understand your reasoning. Who is asking you to 'eat up the FO plan?' I don't think this FO or any other FO 'plans' to go through what the team was forced to do when their franchise player sat out a year to rehab, got paid $20 million and didn't want to fulfill his contract for their final year. That wasn't their plan I'm thinking. As for other moves like Anderson, they just wanted the guy to get paid and they couldn't pay him like that. They did the same with Boban.

You were saying they deserve to lose, like the idea of tanking, and you find no appeal in watching this team in the playoffs. You are probably not alone in those sentiments, but it doesn't matter. No one has to watch. I actually think there are a lot of people who fell in love with a team that had Tim Duncan and Manu on it and it isn't the same for them any longer. I get it.

Right now making the playoffs is not a given. Them 'tanking' is not going to happen. I'm enjoying watching this season, but they are a work in progress and making a lot of mistakes! Glad you're a fan, we need all the fans we can get!

Why couldn’t they pay him like that? Ownership cannot be stingy. They are rich enough to pay these players even if luxury tax is involved. If ownership is too stingy and refuses to spend money to make money, then a change in ownership is needed.

It would be nice if they had a blank checkbook, but they don't and like, Boban, probably encouraged him to take the money. The cap-space rules are very complicated and there are people on here that understand and explain it better than me, but I don't think they kicked him to the curb. They are happy for him.

Also I have given people a hard time about the 'tanking' talk, but thinking it's a good idea is very different than doing it. We are a new team that will likely land in the middle of the pack this year. Hopefully they'll improve if there aren't too many injuries. I expect them to play hard and hopefully make less mistakes as the season goes on. You and others are of course right saying it looks ugly from time to time.
