Summer’s barely begun, and there was a reason they cleared extra cap room by kicking #8 down the road 7 years. I can see some moves like Houston made last summer, only less assholey. My pet cat is Cam Johnson.
Look we're obviously on opposite sides of the spectrum where I think they're a bottom 3 FO in the league and you probably think they're the best so we're not gonna see eye2eye past this....

I agree that Cam Johnson would be perfect for this team. Knockdown shooter that would do wonders for unlocking Castle, Vassell, and most importantly Wemby. Still young on a good contract and should be very much gettable considering Brooklyn's fire sale. He'd honestly be a perfect fit at the 3 spot in the SL.

And for all of those reasons above, I'm 1000% confident that the PATFO hasn't even considered bringing him in

True, but the Spurs have 2 open roster spots (after signing Castle to his rookie deal) and can try to offload worse deals first (Collins or Johnson). I think we need as many defensive minded players as possible on this team, but waiving him could easily happen if they need his spot.

We'll see, but I hope he remains on the team if only for his playmaking, size and defensive potential.
You’d have to offload them into cap room to get the roster spot, and that costs. One possibility is a many to one trade, but I think ultimately they will just cut unguaranteed deals, and more than one.

Ingram at 48 sounds like a very sensible pick, but Spurs' FO has made a habit of passing on higher upside talent, this draft and last. Contenders have room to take chances, Spurs don't?

Also, just because you took someone in the first doesn't mean he's got a 4 year scholarship, you can take more chances and rotate faster until you find a few keepers.

    Lots of head scratchers

The Monix trade worked out really well for Flint. Remember, they beat San Antonio to wrap up 4th place.

With Castle's selection, Spurs indicate that they want to prioritize positional size. So you have a young 6'9" wing that falls into your lap with positional size, potential, and can provide much needed shooting, that you can get on a contract that pays him nothing, and instead you take a stash for...cash?

And then at 48 you select a 6'6" junior who plays like a big, except he can't even shoot 50% at the rim and had 8 dunks on the year, and shoots 60% from the line? What the did I just watch

I think Indy traded up, rather than us trading down. Yes,it was only one spot, but someone else may have been interested. We got cash, too. We also didn’t want Nunez. He has a buyout, and won’t be in a position to accept his qualifying offer and force their hand. He also just signed a new deal.

Holt Jr probably picked up a strip club tab for Indy's owner one time, and this was Indy's way of paying him back while making it a business expense

Spurs may take that bluff and be like we actually would love to stash Bronny in Australia, saves us money lol
like Pop would go against his China boy LeBron's request...

We likely had a team willing to trade up into 35. But whatever it was, the cash considerations plus 36 were a better offer.

Pacers probably feared the Spurs wanted Furphy as he dropped into their laps. Knew they were s for Cash Considerations.

For real, I was wondering the same thing? Maybe the Spurs didnt think Nunez would be available at 36, so we selected Murphy at 35 and........... wait, whaaat? Yeah that shiaat makes no sense.

I had assumed that Koponen's draft rights were only included because each team in a trade has to give up something, but the Mavs also traded away the #58 pick and cash. Why were Koponen's rights even included? As a joke?
