Sanjaya being in the top 10 is gonna hurt this show more than they think...

True, Like Paula said it is a SINGING COMPE ION. I had people at my high school that could sing better than Sanjaya. He is good for his age a suppose and I can see him going to Hollywood but there is no reason why he keeps advancing and people better than him are getting eliminated. He has the -sexual vote and girls' 10-17 vote. Sanjaya is ruining the show. If he wins it will really hurt the show and many won't watch again next year. This is by far the worst year of Idol yet. I wouldn't expect the winner to go on and sell a bunch of albums.

Gwen Stefani coached the "American Idol" kids this week with their "pop" song pickings. A rumor on I Love Everything claiming that Sanjaya wanted to sing No Doubt's "Bathwater" to Gwen's dismay. She urged him to choose an 80s song instead. She apparently told his ass that she doesn't think he can pull it off. During dress rehearsals yesterday Gwen still wasn't happy with Sanjaya's choice and went to the Executive Producer and demanded something be done. They apparently gave him Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning" and the entire studio was left feeling very uncomfortable.

She should've asked him to sing "I'm Just a Girl." That's more his speed.

Here's what the rest of the kids will sing:

I was not a fan of Jordins performance last night. I was surprised when the judges gave her positive feedback. I usually like her too.

and I think Haley (or Chris S) might go home tonight.

I remarked to my wife at the beginning of the show that I thought Gwen Stefani was a lousy choice for a guest artist... and I joked that maybe someone would sing "Hey Baby."

Cause, you know, it's a really stupid song. And surely no one would choose to sing it for a national singing compe ion................

How I rated them yesterday from worst to best:

10. Sanjaya - I think he is trying to hide his weak vocals behind his hairdos. I wasn't familiar with the song(I'm an 'ol fart I guess ). Weak, very weak!!

09. Chris Sligh - His worst performance by far!

08. Phil - I think "his" best performance but still too boring.

07. Chris Richardson - Just so so for me! Still sounds like Big Bird!

06. Blake - Thank God he didn't do any beatboxing, but then again maybe he should've! I think he exposed his weakness........not so good vocals!

05. Gina - I've liked her every week. She has given solid performances every time, but her vocals aren't up to par with the Big Three!

04. Haley - This girl sounds great every week, that given any other season, Haley would be one of the contestants to shoot for. Still way behind the Big Three! Looked "hot" though!

03. Jordin - I thought she sounded great!!! Of course I had to ask my wife what the song was and who sang it . I liked her voice and her performance!

02. Lakisha - The song did start kind of shaky but she did pull it off. She proved she can sing upbeat songs! Still great vocals and stage presence!

01. Melinda - Again, listening to her and watching her performance is just so far above the rest even Lakisha and Jordin, that it'll be a crime if she doesn't win AI! She's a real PRO!!! Her vocals and stage presence TOP NOTCH!!! She probably could sing just about anything!



Bottom three: Haley, Chris Sligh, Phil

Eliminated: Haley (I hope not)
