Acutally, myself and several others thought that very same thing.

It all started with the firing of Marty Shott and the hiring of Norv.
Norv blows!! Thanks for the Texans props, if it wasnt for a few stupid things and injuries I think we could have won it. Oh well we will get our chance at Indy again.

Things are looking a little bleak for Houston though, with the injuries to Green and Johnson. However, Jones looks amazing and I think Gado can take the load for the short term. Plus Ryans, Williams and company are making that defense look good.

I still think they looked pretty good. They've got a good foundation for the future.

I'm still waiting on an All-Texas Super Bowl.

Yeah hopefully we wont need much to be Atlanta this coming week, then Miami the next. I think we will be fine. Andre Davis proved himself as well this week. 4 catches for 70 yards. One thing that really impressed me was our redzone defense. We help them to field goals a lot on multiple occasions.

    You're pretty funny.
It pairs well with your stupidity.

The Colts are playing better than last year. Their defense is performing much better than they did last year, which was always a cause for concern. So, it's not that the Colts are "weaker than you thought". That was a stupid statement.

However, Houston is playing MUCH better than anyone thought they would. They are exceeding expectations.

That's why the game was close.
oh so you can watch a football game and regurgitate exactly what you saw on the field. how ing special of you. that's just goddamn brilliant. "the game was close, so both teams are good but one team is better since they won." that's some genius ing Tony Siragusa knowledge right there.

if that tells the entire story then i'd agree, but you've got to take more than that into account dumbass.

The Colts defense only looked good when Schaub threw it right to them or the playcalling was so atrocious that a JV high school team could have busted the play. Overall they looked pretty average and at times flat out bad.

And let's not forget that last week they were a dropped pass away from losing to Vince Young and 10 re s.

Watching that game didn't tell me a in thing about Houston. Maybe they are significantly better than last season, but by the way Indy played, I can't say. It did tell me that the Colts are either complacent from their SB win, or that they aren't as good as last season, despite everybody hyping them to be even better.

My opinion of San Diego is tainted by their 1-2 start and loss to Green Bay yesterday.
Fair enough, but if the Patriots win over the Chargers is no longer a quality win since San Diego looks pathetic, then you'd no doubt agree that a Colts blowout over New Orleans is also not a quality win, right?

It told me that Matt Schaub can look just as bad as David Carr at times.

ok now obviously you havent seen much texans games in the last few years. Maybe the Texans should start spying on the other teams to get a advantage!!

    They already do.

And living in Dallas they show many more abortions called Texans games than I'd ever care to watch, so unfortunately I'm familiar with how much that team sucks.

The Colts defense only looked good when Schaub threw it right to them.
So they looked bad when Shaub connected with his receivers? Using that rationale, everytime Shaub connects with a receiver, that defense is automatically suspect. But, if he throws towards a defense, they actually look good.

    This logic is unparalleled.

And let's not forget that last week they were a dropped pass away from losing to Vince Young and 10 re s.
They were challeged by a QB that other defenses have not been able to stop and this makes them a bad defense?

Watching that game didn't tell me a in thing about Houston.
Houston playing without it's star WR (Johnson) and with several of thier starters hurt and still making the game compe ive didn't tell you a " ing thing about Houston"?

The lost SEVERAL starters from last years football team and are 3-0. They've done it with a balanced effort from offense and defense (with the defense bailing them out from a couple of bad situations). What else do you want?

You're either (a) a Colts hater or (b) not very knowledgeable in football.

The Colts defense is playing better than they did during the regular season last year. Not as lights out as they were in the playoffs, but still pretty damn good, and the offense is having some hiccups when it comes to finding the end zone. Harrison has dropped some TD passes and we had to settle for FGs. And you want to sit here and tell me this Colts team is weaker than last year when you know Peyton Manning is probably slitting his wrists over throwing only 1 TD per game since the opener. Dude is going to be looking to expose some overrated CB for TDs and he'll probably do that against Dre Bly next week.

The Texans lost several key players to injury against the Indianapolis Colts. Head coach Gary Kubiak announced the extent of their injuries and their likely replacements on Monday.

McKinney out for season: With word of Cedric Killings' steady recovery, the biggest news of the day was that starting center Steve McKinney tore the ACL in his left knee and is out for the season. McKinney, who has played in every game in Texans history, was named the starter after an offseason-long position battle with Mike Flanagan, a Pro Bowler in 2003 with the Green Bay Packers who now steps back into the starting role he held for nine games last season.

“That’s why Mike’s here,” Kubiak said. “For us to keep two veteran centers on our roster was for this very reason. Now did we think Steve was going to be lost to a season-ending injury? No. But history told us that we would need them both to get through this season.

“Mike’s been preparing to play. He’s a veteran center; he knows what we’re doing. And then we’ve got Chris White, a young kid that y’all know we all think a lot of, so his process will get elevated and those two will work, but Mike’s ready to go.”

Still, several players were stung by the loss of their teammate.

“Steve and I have been together for six years now, so we’re not just teammates, we’re friends,” guard Chester Pitts said. “Obviously, it’s rough and it’s not what you want, but we all know it’s part of the game. It’s just how it works out sometimes.”

“It’s definitely tough,” quarterback Matt Schaub said. “Any time you lose a player, especially for the season, it’s a tough blow because he’s been a big part of what we’ve been able to do here so far this season. He’s a good blocker in the pass and in the run, so he’ll be missed. But Mike Flanagan can step in and get the job done as well.”

Green day-to-day: Running back Ahman Green is considered day-to-day after an MRI revealed no damage to his bruised left knee, injured on a hard hit in the season opener against Kansas City. Green did not return to the Colts game after struggling with the injury on the Texans’ first series.

Running back Ron Dayne looks good for the Atlanta game after sitting out Week 3 with a sore chest.

“As of today, I’d like to think that Ronnie is going to be fine and ready to go, so that would be a big positive,” Kubiak said.

If Green cannot play on Sunday, Samkon Gado will again help replace him along with fullback Jameel Cook, who turned in an admirable performance at halfback on Sunday with five carries for 15 yards and two receptions for 12 yards.

“I would say he played well,” Kubiak said of Cook. “He’s a hybrid type of guy. He plays for us in the nickel, he’s good in pass protection. I was pleased with the way he played and I think he would come back this week and play even better with more reps.”

Jones out, Davis may start: With Andre Johnson still wearing an immobilizer on his left knee and rookie Jacoby Jones out with a separated shoulder, Andre' Davis may start at wide receiver against Atlanta after racking up 70 yards on four receptions against the Colts.

“I think that’s a very good possibility,” Kubiak said. “He showed that he’s played before. He went in there and he was very effective, made big plays. He’s got some speed. He has not been up because of the special teams; that’s not a factor with him right now with our receiver situation, he’s going to be up. So I think you’re definitely going to see him more. Does he start this week? We’ll see. We’ll see how this week goes.”

Johnson will probably come out of the immobilizer within the next two days, at which point the star receiver will be evaluated on a daily basis.

“I would think he’s still doubtful as we go into this week,” Kubiak said. “As far as Jacoby, it’s going to be a week-to-week thing. We’re hoping that it’s a two-week process with him, but that’s going to be a week-to-week deal.”

The Texans are in need of another receiver with Jerome Mathis the only other healthy wideout on the roster. Kubiak said they are considering activating Harry Williams from the practice squad or re-signing Bethel Johnson, Keenan McCardell or David Anderson, all who were with the Texans through training camp and have a grasp of the offense.

Punt returning trio: Dexter Wynn and Mathis are likely to replace Jones at punt returner, while Jamar Fletcher may also get the opportunity.

“I would think they’ll both do it,” Kubiak said of Wynn and Mathis. “I would think Dexter would start doing it, but Jerome definitely has the ability to do that. We can also do it with Fletcher, too. We think he would do a very good job for us.”

Jones, who says he never missed a game or practice while at Lane College, isn’t happy about his injury.

“It’s a big disappointment because I still want to play,” he said. “I don’t want to miss games. I’m not used to missing games and practice, so it’s something I’ve got to deal with.”

Part of the game: Kubiak noted a silver lining as he discussed moving on from the injuries.

“It’s a very tough situation, but it is what it is and we’ve got to push through it,” Kubiak said. ““Everybody in this league loses players. We’ve lost a few, we’ve had more than our share right now, but we’re going to find a way to fight through it and we’re going to be better when it’s all said and done. These young kids are going to grow up and play well for us.”

His players have gotten the message and are looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“It’s just the nature of the business, and I think that’s what makes a great team is if you have guys who can step up and play like starters,” defensive end N.D. Kalu said. “And we’ll see in Atlanta because we can’t use an excuse, so we’ll see what type of team we really are. This is a great chance for us to prove that we’re a good team, not just a good starting 22.

injuries are ing us. I hope Flannigan can hold up, or we are gonna have to throw studdard in there. If we can win this week while resting Dre I think we are in a good position to make a good run at the playoffs.

Okoye named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month

Texans defensive tackle Amobi Okoye was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for September, it was announced today. Okoye becomes the second Texans rookie to win the award and is the fourth Texan to win player of the month honors.

Okoye (6-2, 302) has started all four games for the Texans this season, recording 10 tackles, an AFC-high 4.0 sacks for 30.0 yards, a team-high four quarterback pressures, and he tied for the team lead with one forced fumble. He also has been solid against the run, helping the Texans to the sixth-ranked run defense in the NFL.

Okoye recorded his first two sacks of the season and set the Texans rookie record for most sacks in a game at Carolina (9/16). He tied the Texans' rookie record by recording a sack in three consecutive games. Okoye’s 4.0 sacks in the month of September were the most by a rookie defensive tackle since Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams had 5.0 in December 2003.

Okoye’s 4.0 sacks leads all rookies, is tied for tops in the AFC, and is second among all defensive tackles. With Okoye at defensive tackle, the Texans ended the month of September ranked 14th in total defense, their highest ranking in the first month of the season in team history.

Okoye joins punter Chad Stanley, cornerback Marcus Coleman and linebacker DeMeco Ryans as the other Texans to win NFL Player of the Month Awards. Stanley won the AFC Special Teams Award in September 2002, Coleman picked up the AFC Defensive Award in 2003 and Ryans was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month in December 2006.

He's well on his way to be DROY. Now if they can just win some more games.

Okoye was a ing smart pick up.

He's only like 13 years old and has a Ph.D in Physics or some like that. That er has nothing but potential.
