Coaching is not the problem....you need players that know how to execute and work well in the clutch.
Assuming Mavs go 3-4 the rest of the way (losing to all the good teams)--> the worst they could do.
The Warriors would have to go 6-1 to over take them if I'm correct. Who knows, Warriors might catch fire, but I think the Mavs need to go at least 4-3 to get the 8th spot (assuming Nuggets take care of their business, they have the easiest I think).
I think Mavs-Hornets first round.

Why because I speak the truth?
Look Dirk is playing hurt, I concede that.....but so are a lot of players....
And he LOST THE BALL ....on his own....HE FUMBLED IT.......
He has a HISTORY OF CHOKING.......
Ah whatever, you guys are blinded by his dirkness...
DD
Coaching is 60-70% of the problem.
Yeah, a high ankle sprain is no big thang. That pussy shouldn't have missed any time at all.
Good job Lakers for just going out there and taking care of business, no big surprises in this game, they just went out and did what they were supposed to do.
Don't forget that since the trade your team played about half the games against sub .500 teams. That can skew your numbers quite a bit. I'd like to see what those numbers look like on the games against over .500 teams...
why are you ragging on Dirk? He's gimpy and did great I thought. The TO was pretty stupid, but that's not a surprise when you run another Dirk ISO, the defense knows this and no one else was stepping up for the Mavs.
It must not have been all that bad he came back in about 10 days.....what does that tell you?
1-10...against winning teams.....but the trade is good?
You guys are like Ostrichs burying your heads in the sand....
NO, it really IS a good trade.....
Uh.....sure it was.....NOT !
DD
That's all the games, not just what they did against bad teams.
America, eatin' my lunch from a single bowl in my parents basement, where I'm livin'. Happy Birthday, I'm forty-three.
Don't want to waste those precious calories...chewin'. Jesus come move my jaw for me, help me get my sloppy food down my throat
It tells me that you don't know what you're talking about.
Well, considering we're losing by 25 points every time out, and Dirk didn't miss any of those games, yeah, it's a horrible trade to upgrade the PG position.1-10...against winning teams.....but the trade is good?
It's no surprise there's going to be an adjustment period while playing in a tough Western conference. They should've done it last summer of this upcoming summer. Mavs are fine, the trade will look better next year. You guys are like Ostrichs burying your heads in the sand....
Rocket troll. I don't know why I keep getting suckered into answering him. He's even making light of his injury. Dumbass.
Uh, who is it making up BS about Dirk wanting the trade? Not me....
Sometimes upgrading is not all that seems when you lose the speed element that is so vital in attacking the basket in today's NBA....and not to mention the only shot blocking presence in the paint.
Which is ALL THE MORE REASON YOU DON'T MAKE THE TRADE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DD
Damn leave Dirk alone! The guy is playing on a ed up ankle and STILL scored 28 pts tonight and shot a ridiculous percentage from the field. He is not the reason the Mavs lost, it was their poor defense down the stretch and inability to stop the Gasol/Odom layup drill.
And Rocket fans need to STFU. DAL has an actual chance of making it out of the 1st round. The Rockets team leader is the epitome of Mr. Glass.
His injury lookes pretty healed to me, especially on that off balance one footer he made to give you guys your last 4 point lead....oh, and it was off the injured ankle.
But, meh, you guys don't want the truth.
DD
Oh, I am sorry for having an opinion.......and Tmac is made of glass.....he and Dirk share the same ability to choke at crucial times.
And Findog where is that LINK to back up your claim that Dirk wanted the Kidd trade.
DD
Even though your team won tonight, you came in here and posted the truth and you didn't come and rub it in our faces that the mavs lost. Props to you![]()
When your only option is Dirk down the stretch, he's not going to make every damn shot, especially against good defense. No Dirk in this game and Mavs get blown out.
BTW, Odom was a ing beast. If he plays like that more often, the whole Pau-Odom tandem is damaging.
There is a member here on Spurstalk named Shank. Send him a PM and he'll clear up any questions you have. As for anything else you might have to say:

Dirk failed to deliver in the clutch... Not the first time, probably not the last time. He's a terrific player and had a great game today. But if you're the go to guy in the crunch, you need to either score, get to the line or find an open teammate... He did none of those. Compare with Kobe, that took it to the hole to put the game out of reach...
Seriously, when you're in a hole, you stop digging. Do you honestly think they would've made a trade Dirk was not on board with? He pushed it more than anybody.
Well, too bad we're missing Diop and his 10 minutes per game. And we fastbreak more with Kidd than we did with Devin, but you don't watch our games, so you wouldn't know.Sometimes upgrading is not all that seems when you lose the speed element that is so vital in attacking the basket in today's NBA....and not to mention the only shot blocking presence in the paint.
