Meh, Mountain cedar >> Omicron
mountain cedar didn't kill 200,000 Americans December-February
lol dumb Darrin
Shanghai has reported 130,000 cases since Mar. 1
One severe patient
Zero deaths
For that, they've got 25 million people locked down
Zero covid lunacy
You presume PRC announcements to be true if you think they back up what you're saying. Very revealing.
Jury's still out on whether zero COVID is lunacy. Widespread COVID related disability, diabetes, dementia, strokes, and cardiac disease from letting er rip could put the US at substantial disadvantage economically and sustain the downward trajectory of life expectancy and quality of life. It could also put us at a strategic disadvantage to compe ors like China.
That said, my own policy preferences pulls up well short of zero COVID. South Korea, Taiwan and Japan seem like the examples to follow for threading the public health/personal freedom needle. Greater emphasis should be laid on indoor ventilation/filtration, also, there should be a renewed emphasis on hastening 2nd generation vaccines and treatments given the trend of immune escape.
None of that is zero COVID, it's just living with the virus. Thinking it's possible to return to the old normal is lunacy -- the world has changed, time to stop living in the past.

China good and trustworthy now.
Karrin
The PRC's big public health success was keeping transmission low until vaccines were available. Unfortunately for the Chinese people, their vaccine sucks and the PRC has done a poor job of getting people -- especially elderly people -- vaxxed.
US official numbers are cooked (home testing, lack of testing and new COVID case definitions are tamping them down) but they do show a recent growth in cases.

is it normal for cold/flu season to come 3 times a year?
https://apnews.com/article/covid-hea...33bc868ebeba74The Biden administration will extend for two weeks the nationwide mask requirement for public transit as it monitors an uptick in COVID-19 cases, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was set to extend the order, which was to expire on April 18, by two weeks to monitor for any observable increase in severe virus outcomes as cases rise in parts of the country. The move was being made out of abundance of caution, the person said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to preview the CDC’s action.
When the Transportation Security Administration, which enforces the rule for planes, buses, trains and transit hubs, extended the requirement last month, it said the CDC had been hoping to roll out a more flexible masking strategy that would have replaced the nationwide requirement.

another incompetent corrupt Trash judge, 35 years old, blocks another Biden/Dem mask mandate
- U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle struck down the CDC's mask mandate on planes, buses, trains and transit hubs
"The American Bar Association (ABA) rated Mizelle "Not Qualified" by a majority and
"Qualified" by a minority of the Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary to serve as a federal trial court judge, noting that
"Since her admission to the bar Ms. Mizelle has not tried a case, civil or criminal, as lead or co-counsel. ..."
