Looks like a shoddy prosecution team

if the cop finds a world class lawyer- he will walk free

if he gets a normal lawyer- maybe he gets convicted

seems like overreaching by the atlanta prosecutor IMO

    Yeah, no.

Did you look at the evidence they presented for the reasoning behind the charges? Just take the L.

This was not a justified shooting.

In the video- the officer had brooks take a breathalizer test

saw the reading and told him - you have had too much to drink to allow you to drive and began the arrest by trying to handcuff him

then brooks violently resisted and assaulted the officers and grabbed the taser

unless the 2nd cop testifies of some kind of bias or racism or animosity against the first officer

i dont see how he gets convicted

the prosecutor never even mentioned that brooks elevated the situation when he resisted

    resisting arrest - felony
    assault on a po- felony
    evading /fleeing - felony
firing taser at po - felony

never ever mentioned by anyone on the left media

funny- i NEVER EVER agree with ANYTHInG tucker nazi carlson or hannity ever say

but both of them nailed this -
    both said officer acted lawfully

court case will be interesting if cop gets a good lawyer

Footage from body cams and surveillance will be enough burden of proof that the PO's will be vindicated.

Those claiming otherwise are just cry babies who are so entrenched in MSM culture.

i dont think that is going to really matter when it comes to a murder charge. that would go towards his termination, not criminal charges. imo

"never presented himself as a threat" is absurd considering that he fought the cops before the shooting, grabbed the taser and tried using it.

that is disturbing, and if that conduct is what the charges are based on, that's a different story. the shooting itself was wrongful but imo unlikely to garner a conviction

to use this as evidence that they didnt see him as a threat is disingenuous. of course he's not a threat after he's been shot and he's on the ground. the question of him being a threat is at the moment of the shooting (still questionable since he was running away and was unarmed)

i call em like i see em

you and i never agree and i

    DO

support the BLM movement (the movement- not the opportunists with another agenda)

    but

i think this cop will be collateral damage to further this movement- but it will be hard for him to get justice

    IMO

he is guilty of acting like an ass after he shot the guy by kicking him -

but other than that- this cop got railroaded by angry agenda-driven and scared city officials

Very irresponsible parenting to bring a kid to riot protests.

i just told you that i'm not, based on the information currently available to me.

the alleged actions after the shooting are disturbing, but i dont have enough info to move the needle yet

    what about you?

It was murder. Shot in back.

You could say you don’t think he’ll get convicted by a jury but murder is murder.

homicide is homicide. murder is murder. they're different. its also hazy when in the scope of law enforcement activity. i dont think every shooting that turns out to be unjustified warrants criminal prosecution/conviction.

    i basically have 3 categories

1 - justified use of lethal force. still an intentional killing, but allowed

2 - unjustified use of lethal force, but essentially a poor judgment called in the field, still within the scope of legitimate police work

3 - unjustified use of force with no rational basis and appears detached from any legitimate exercise of force related to law enforcement

i see this one as category 2... not that these are legal standards. just my way of thinking these through

I think this is a gross miscarriage of justice.

They're even charging the other officer with assault for what?

    Chasing a lawbreaker?

This has turned him state witness and is flat out wrong.

    The prosecutor should be impeached.

discharging a nonlethal weapon that didnt even have any ammunition

“We have also concluded that Rolfe was aware that the Taser in Brooks’ possession. It was fired twice, and once it’s fired twice, it presented no danger to him or to any other persons,”
