Colt McCoy’s class (2005) was #14 and ave rating = .897. 2021 without anyone else is lil lower w average .89. Colts class lost 1 reg season game in jr and sr season. Beat Aggie resoundingly both years. Heisman finalist. should’ve been in 2 nc games.
Jevan Snead and Perriloux were higher rated prospects. So was garret gilbert.
Better to have top 5 class but look at aggy. What have they done w several top 5 classes (lose minor bowl games)? Mack and herm have had those classes not produce also. LSU has off the chart talent but losing record this year.
We have enough talent to make it to conf champ game in 21. Schedule in 2021 is easiest in long time. Coaches need to use actual spring and fall practice to get better. Coaches need to get recruits to Austin and ask them if they really wanna live in mobilehoma or agroidville for 4 years.

No he’s average as a coach. And all the drunk hateful fans start screaming to fire the coaches after the first snap. All you geniuses last year said we needed to get rid of our coordinators to get better. Those coaches and coord went 10-4 w ou/sugar win with inferior talent. Herman beat ou at uh. Herman almost beat lsu last year w vastly inferior talent. Herm almost beat @usc w tru fresh qb and terrible offense. Tom’s lost games he shouldn’t Too. Herman was off coordinator at osu. Beat bama w bk up qb. Recruiting has been good for 3 yrs under him and bad for one. This team has never quit on Herman. Not once. Mack got killed repeatedly by ou but didn’t get fired cuz he kissed ass. Saying Herman is a bad coach simply isn’t true. He’s had some bad underachieving games and some overachieving good games.Next year, Tom gotta beat arky or I’ll join the fire Tom train. If he’s fired Then you guys will start drinking and screaming to fire the new coaches.

Do you enjoy losing to Oklahoma, like we do every year that he has been coach (beat them one time, but got beat same year for conference championship)? Do you enjoy watching state top recruits go somewhere else ?
He is not as good a coach as Oklahoma has. He is not as good a coach as Iowa State has.
so that ranks him as 3rd best coach in the conference (or worse). I don’t understand how you can be ok with that.
Btw...Patterson has owned his ass too, so 3rd best coach in conference may be a little generous

The question isn’t simply whether to fire the coach. The question is which path is better - a) replace Herman w another mediocre coach or b) keep him 1 last yr since this is a crazy crazy year where the coaches had no spring practice and virtually no fall practice ( w nu off/def coord) & no in person recruiting since March.
If you tell me Matt Rhule is gonna step in for Herman then I’m all in.
Losing to ou sucks. Some of Best days of my life were seeing in person Johnny walker over middle and Kerry/Keith case in corner for the win. I left first stoops blowout #1 v Mack (in the driving rain) at half. Was there for 45-35 and that is 2nd best tx gm eva!
Mack lost repeatedly to ou. Badly. But they kept him. Cuz good programs don’t fire coaches like bad programs.
Herman isn't a bad X's and O's guy, he is immature and full of dumb- ery. He needs to grow up and lose his tough guy image. When he does those things he will excel as a coach. Right now he is his own worse enemy. He was not ready for the Texas job and it showed from day one. It's too late now, he just needs to step away and find a lower job to grow up in.
They kept him because he recruited his ass off and won 10 games every year. If Texas wants to be a good program, they need to stop hiring bad coaches, and Tom Herman is a bad coach.
I would prefer Mark Mangino over Herman at this point.
