I'm not the one bumping it, tbh.

Pop made the changes, the rest is history. I love Pop now!

le or nothing. Pop is a champion coach or just another chump coach who failed to win the le.

Every year is the same thing. No-one gets a 2nd place trophy. Finish this job Pop.

    Simple.

Could you quantify what changes Pop made? You said he played Splitter more and Bonner less, and it's not really true. Splitter played slight more, and Bonner less. Those weren't really highly significant minutes.

You wanted less Blair, but who was supposed to be starting next to him last year? Splitter obviously wasn't ready, Blair couldn't play well without Duncan. This year, Blair played a lot less, but most of those minutes actually went to Diaw, Jackson and Kawhi, who weren't here last year.

You said the Spurs should concentrate more on defense, and yet offense is the Spurs calling card this year. The defense ramped up in the second half of the season, which happens every year. Pop saw the league changing, and adapted. It took the team a few years to transition, and when it did, the Spurs are looking great.

Pop went from a defense first (or even defense only) team to a largely offensive team. He went from 4 down to extremely complex and beautiful motion based offense. What do you want?

I just don't understand what you predicted to be right all along.

To each is own, but forget that mindset. If the Spurs don't win this year, I'll remember this year for the time the Spurs wasted Duncan's best shot at a 5th le.
This is not a "mindset" of a player. I am not on the team. Its a statement as a fan. I am not a player taking it a game at a time. I am fan looking at the entirety of what we HAVE witnessed.

    I love good basketball.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this year.
The composure the Spurs have shown through all of this is miles ahead of the OP. If the Spurs lose tonight its not going to change like none of this ever happened. Ohhhh the wind has shifted, all that counts is the last game...

I would like 3 more for Duncan. ANd for right now, that is in the realm of possibility if we remain uninjured.

Who in God's name saw this coming... Its a giant X-mas present.

Bonner played more than 30 minutes three times last year, and the Spurs were 2-1 in those games. He also played less than 25 minutes a game every single game in the playoffs in 11. What was that 30-35 minutes a game thing?

This year, Bonner, in a shorter season, played more than 30 minutes three times, with the Spurs going 2-1. In the playoffs, he played 8 to 20 minutes a game this year.

As for Splitter, who you were really hanging your hat on as a replacement for Bonner, he played 12.3mpg last year in the RS and 16.7mpg in the playoffs. He is playing 19 and 15.4mpg this year. Negligible difference, if any.

Who was going to start last year instead of Blair. It's obvious Splitter works best with Ginobili, and Blair could only work with Duncan. You want to start Bonner?

Pop didn't have Diaw, Leonard and Jackson last year, he does this year. There is a big difference.
Of course Flabbs, TJastal, et al. run around spouting off at the mouth as if these things weren't true.

Please don't bring common sense into a festival of idiots. They don't tend to mix well.

you started this thread blaming Pop less than two months ago.

No doubt another Spur loss would make your crotch happy.

So yesterday, Blair beasted when he was in the game, and Splitter was largely ineffective.

Oh great mighty silverblk mystix, should Pop employ Blair the next game and bench Splitter?

Clueless Pop is looking for guidance.

The more appropriate question here is should Blair start in place of Diaw, and the answer is still no.

But can you perhaps lend Pop your crystal ball, ambchang? You're hindsight is impressive. 20/20 at least. Last night Splitter was essentially neutered by the refs. When you are not allowed to post up Derek Fisher 10 feet from the basket you might as well just throw in the towel. In last night's game I might have agreed in hindsight we should have seen more Blair in place of Splitter from the get-go. I really need to work on that whole hindsight thing.

    I'd bench Bonner for good.

After that, Pop would look like an even better coach than he already is.

Except that isn't the trend we're seeing.

    Boner's minutes: 11, 17, 23, ?

Looks like he's getting bumped 6 a game, which means he's due for 29 minutes in game 4.

    Maybe.

    This will be a shocker to the Popsuckers but here is my take;

Pop deserves a pass right now based on how he has coached since April 11th.
Pop will make the right adjustments and he won't go back to Bonner-ball. I actually never blamed Pop for this loss but I wasn't happy with overplaying Bonner--but it is just an aberration.

Pop gets a pass. Pop will return to championship level coaching the rest of this series.

This is finally the test we have been waiting for.

Prior to last nights game everyone here was actually thinking it would be easy and there was all this mutual respect and admiration of OKC players--kind of a mutual jerk off happening.

Today, people here are starting to hate Harden, getting a little angry and this is all good.

If you don't hate the OKC players a little after this series then it wasn't a very good series.

If Pop and/or Bonner aren't tested a little then the playoffs haven't actually started yet.

Now, we will begin to see if Pop will justify that COTY honor.

He will. He will realize what he has been doing since April 11th and he will re-adjust his Bonner love.

Your crotch is exposed. Nobody asked to see out.

It's getting sad watching you continually expose it because of your insecurity.
