Why was their reaction hilarious? They deserved the win. They played hard all the way throughout the game and worked hard all the way through. Spurs were complete and utter .

If you were playing on a team and just beat them in any game, anywhere, at anytime after watching their performance in the NBA finals, would you not be excited? Pure ing arrogance from some people around here.

The NBA is the best in the World. Playing in the NBA is any badketball player's dream.
The Spurs are the reigning champions. They had beaten 20+ teams. I just kind of expect them to play their best or win against a good but unknown team. They're supposed to rule against those guys. No more excuses... if they're playing international or NBA game because TP, Manu, Diaw, Beli even Duncan played FIBA before.
If it's true that they are just "half-assing it", it would disappoint me more, hope not.

As they well they should. They play in a league, and a country, which has a reputation of not being on the same tier as the NBA, and they just beat the defending and five-time NBA champions. Sure, it was just a friendly, and the Spurs are out of shape and just putting things together in camp again, but let's give credit where its due...this is pretty much the exact same team that just won the Finals, just after a 3-month layoff.

Those players for Berlin are going to tell their grandkids one day about the time they beat Hall of Famers Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker in a game of professional basketball. And they deserve it.
Lol, look at all you s getting boners over this loss like it matters. This is like when the MLS all stars beat Bayern Munich in soccer. Nobody actually thinks America is better at soccer than Germany now lol. Bayern kinda half tried, a lot like the Spurs, and the MLS teams played like their life was on the line. This happens when you are 1) out of form, 2) avoiding injury at all costs, and 3) just dont care near as much as the other team..... oh yeah and 4) its the ing preseason, off trolls

Get used to it - Patty is a huge loss for us. Until Patty is back, we're not as dangerous on offense.

    Why?

If I am re ed I won't support this team since the day they drafted Tim Duncan.

    I am a believer. But I am a realist.

The only good reason they didnt give it all to win the game was they are afraid of any injuries and that's fine with me.

    Precisely.

We basically threw that game. 21 turnovers and NFW Timmy throws it down into the corner in a one-point game that counts.

Good show for the Berlin fans. Had we played like we did against Miami in the Finals, we would've won by 50.

Did the original Dream Team lose a game?
He's referring to them getting beat by a college team that had Bobby Hurley, Chris Webber, Grant Hill and a bunch of other future-NBA guys in their first scrimmage together. I think, if memory serves, that Chuck called the game once the DT was down so that they'd have to sit and stew with the loss for a day. The next game the DT smashed them and never looked back.

I never said anyone thinks that Europe is now better than America at basketball because one team loses one exhibition game. We just got through with a World Cup compe ion where America sent in their B-squad and still eviscerated the rest of the compe ion, so I'm pretty sure that's been put to rest for a while.

What I said is that the Spurs, for the all glamor and glory they've received over the past few months, just lost to a team that should be vastly inferior to them, all things considered. That should not sit well with them.

On the flip-side, those Berlin players got to experience the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of beating the defending NBA champions. Even if it was just a friendly match and the Spurs were just half-assing it, that's still a memory that no one will ever be able to take away from them.

I sure as hope Pop didn't go into the locker room after the game and say, "Don't worry guys. You're just out of form and avoiding injury. I'm sure you'll figure it out once you start caring."

Pop threw the game Chuck Daly style. Showing his team that they can lose to anyone just like Daly did with the Dream Team. This'll be a great teaching point for Pop.

i thought about that after the game too.

You could tell Pop was thrilled with the way this game ended. It was a perfect reminder that you can be beaten any day, any time, if you aren't prepared and you don't execute.

maybe the loss doesn't mean much but thing to be concerned about(other than Pop's beard) is still Belli, can we survive another season with him in the rotation? we really need to make a last strong push for Ray Allen...

Green is the best rim-protecting two-guard in the NBA.
