So one knows it must be less than 1, because the area under the graph of f(x)=1 from 0 to 1 is 1. If you put a bunch of numbers less than 1 but greater than 0 as x into x^5 you get a bunch of tiny numbers less than 1 all adding up to 1/6.
Which is terribly cool IMO.
Now spur raider remembered the rule x^(n+1) all divided by n+1 for integrals, Which is how to get the answer. If you had said from 0 to 2, then the answer would have been 2^6 divided by 6, which is 64/6 so a little above 10 or 10 and 2/3. So between 1 and 2 the area rises very rapidly because it's x^5th power. But practically thinking about it is so incredibly neat. I personally think the ideas of limits and the idea of approaching some value is such a beautiful thing. And it allows for Calculus to be done, which in Physics, can accomplish some of the most amazing things.
And im not even good at math but this is so beautiful.

Just a word to the wise....if a mod deletes your thread (it may or may not be justified) don't re-create it 7 times in less than 2 minutes and call the mod a got for doing it. You're just asking for it then...
Every word you said is true. And I'm sure that you can back me up when I say that it is a very easy Calculus problem. I honestly can't think of an easier integral to evaluate in the entire world. I even made the lower boundary "0" to save a couple steps....now you don't have to subtract anything....just use the upper boundary and that's it. But if you don't know how to do it....then it looks like Chinese. Another thing, I'm not calling people who don't know how to do this "stupid"....not everyone needs to know this stuff. For an engineer on the other hand.....this is like second nature.
I just find it hilarious that the majority of people on this site are doctors, lawyers, or engineers. We have no truck drivers, roofers, ditch diggers, fast food workers, or anything like that. And trust me, I'm not degrading those jobs in any way. In this economy right now....there is no such thing as a bad job. As long as you show up to work everyday and work hard....you're fine by me.
Just shocked that we don't have any astronauts, senators, or Fortune 500 CEOs among us tbqh.......

It's not quite that complex though, and it's not just Marines. It applies to all branches of service. If an army soldier or navy seaman is away overseas.....then chances are some random dude (Jody) might be banging their wife.

I'm an engineer, and I never use Calculus on a daily basis.
There are just so many ways to not need derivative and integral rules in the industry.
Not a civil engineer though..
Then again, one should quickly be familiar with the concepts, and know how to google them quickly too, if that's the case
Maybe the solution is an extra Spurs forum, with one basically unmodded like the current one, and one more strict. Then instead of a site ban you can just remove posting privileges from the strict forum.
