See that’s what happens when ya get a high draft pick so hoping we can this time land a pick in the top 7
Observations from this game:
- Vassell has to start, elite defense and shooting. Looks like a top 5 player on this abomination of a roster already
- Aldridge is shooting a lot of 3s, less post ups
- Rudy Gay is in shape and more consistent with his shot than last year. He's also still a traffic cone on D
- Murray is still the same player, too loose with the ball, can't finish in traffic, no consistent jump shot
- Poeltl still can't shoot free throws
- Lyles is what he has always been, a 3rd stringer
- Lonnie Walker is a traffic cone on defense, his defensive footwork is terrible
We just have to hope White and Johnson have made some strides
Did not believe all that lip service by Poop we had a very short turnaround and like one week of organized practice we going to be same as last year. But I am cool with that need to find out of all these young kids who are keepers and who we need to let go all the way getting a top ten draft pick.

It has been so long since I have seen a real PG in a Spurs uniform I almost forgot what they look like. Tre Jones looks good.

I'm willing to give both Luka and Lyles the benefit of the doubt. This is rec ball with no sets being run. They're both more system players that rely on ball movement to create advantages, but it's good to see they're willing to force the issue on offense and they're both rebounding. I don't mind their shot coming on late. Luka has let a few balls go by that he could have gotten if he was engaged on the defensive side though. He still has that motor issue. He started good, pressuring up on his guy early, but he looks tired already. That added weight is likely playing a role in his adjustment.
Jones and Vassell are exciting to watch. On BOTH sides of the court. Really hope Pop gives Jones a chance to run the second unit.
Reynolds is a nice surprise so far. Looks like a baller. Could be a good bench player once he learns the system and his teammates.
Offense looks way better with Tre.

Jones and Vassell are just cut from a different cloth. Love it. Will fit in with White and Keldon well.
You can tell DJ, Lonnie, and Luka were “big swing” type picks, and the jury is still out.
I like it but can’t see Pop starting two guys who are in their first 2 years.
I prefer Poku to Luka if i'm being honest. I don't see it with Luka. Poku body language is better.
Poku doesn't look that bad. Just young. Seems to know what to do.

This. Too soon to say what he's gonna be but i like the way he moves the ball and doesn't let it stick and his movement without it.
everyone ripping on Pokusevski but after being a malnourished twig playing against janitors in the B division of Greece he just dropped 14 & 8 after a week of NBA development.
He's the only guy I would have been fine with the Spurs taking instead of Vassell. Big risk but big reward if he can stop being so selfish and develop his body

Vassell is going to be good. Tre Jones looks like a legit backup PG. Spurs need to ship out LA and DD's asses and let the young guys take over
