    Lonnie had the ball a lot in the G-League. Kind of like DeRozan. They played him as the go-to-guy which was also the role he had when he destroyed everybody in summer league. He is not an offball player. Which is why he should come off the bench, so he can develop into a 6th man. Let him run the pick & roll and look for his shot or kick it out to guys like Patty. For the starters, they been used to playing with an offball shooter at SG, like Forbes and Danny Green, so Vassell makes more sense to be the starting SG.
    Good summary. Never watched g-league or summer league. Thanks.

    Watch this and you'll know what I mean. He has to play in a line up where he is the first option. Scoring on bench players should be easy for him and that way his playmaking ability can shine as well

    I think people forget how much toughness Keldon added to the team as a whole

    Devin vassell has put all of the youngins on notice lol there shouldn’t be this much inconsistency between games for Lonnie & DJ, they gotta figure it out.

    It's summer league of course, but he looks like a completely different player.

    Hopefully going 0-3 in preseason can add a sense of urgency to the team's defense

    the thing is this is from 1 1/2 years ago. He should be able to do this against NBA benches by now

    DeRozan should take his own advice because he's one of the team's biggest offenders on defense.

    I'm really disgusted. Like I really like that Pop likes Vassell. He might even play him. But how did Walker play 29 minutes and only use four possessions? His fellow starters used 68 possessions in a combined 115 minutes. That's not a sustainable pace for the starters of a balanced team. I think it's possible that the rotation's just passed Walker by, but I really don't like Gay starting, and I think almost all of Murray's non-garbage buckets should be removed from his game. His efficiency was mediocre, but if you just look at the shots he tried to create himself, it's probably horrible. I'm really worried at this point that Pop will once again show he doesn't have the pulse of the team, won't play optimal rotations and won't get the best out of the guys who do play. Aldridge doesn't look like he cares. Gay's overhelping on defense. Walker looks like he's on skates and probably wants a trade. Murray's Murray. Honestly, DeRozan was mostly good. Mills was too aggressive. Lyles seems to be in second-year form again. Poeltl didn't do much wrong but didn't impact the court either.

    Top three: DeMar, Vassell, Gay

    Bottom Three: Pop, Aldridge, Walker

    We'll see what happens when guys come back. Starting Gay just can't be a thing at this point unless DeRozan or Murray is traded. Sucks that Lyles doesn't look to be a starter right now, but the team can't take that rotation in the long run. Pop can't manage minutes well enough to spread out the scoring over 48 minutes unless he starts guys on the bench.

    Forbes, Mills and Beli deserved all his minutes. He could have developed more in practice.

    After watching tonights debacle and the pre season as a whole i think you have to role like this;

    White/DJM
    Vassell/Mills
    DeRozan/Walker
    Johnson/Gay
    LMA/Poeltl

    9 man rotation with Lonnie getting spot minutes if you need the 10th guy. I don't think you can start DJM next to DeRozan, 2 non-shooting ball handlers makes things clogged. More likely scenario is Gay starts at the 4 and DJM at the 1 with Johnson and Vassell off the bench coming in at the 6 minute mark of the 1st with the team down 6-8 every game.

    BTW with the above in mind i am not that concerned with the pre season because of the following;

    - Missing the best player (White).
    - Missing another top 5 player in Keldon and the most energetic guy on a low energy team.
    - We look like we have something special in Vassell.

    Just the third point alone makes this pre season a success tbh
