Phil Jackson is the same thing, Spoelstra too. It really is way more common than you think.
Phil Jackson was an NBA champ bro, went to coach in Puerto Rico

Spoelstra had Riley doing the dirty work and printing his culture behind

Mitch is much younger, didn't play at high level, he's too green to be in charge of such a project

You bring nothing of value to this forum so time to stop posting.
Not surprising you want to censor those who disagree with you
It’s a trait like Pop would employ

I don’t care about censoring. I’m just telling you bring nothing of value to this forum.

In fact, you know how little I care about censorship, here’s this: shut up got!

Either way, Pop will go to his grave famous while losers like you do nothing to contribute to society.

You take the L every day living your own life so again I tell you shut up got.

Trump winning the election affects me nothing lol. I know your pansy ass would have cried tears from your vagina if he lost though. The universe decided to give your pathetic life a break from taking Ls.

You know you’ve been brainwashed so bad when politics has become your whole iden y. It’s like these people can’t talk like normal human beings anymore without trump on their brain. Cultish mentality. That’s a full grown adult acting like a 10 year old. Sad.

He really thinks I care about the election when I’m just calling out a loser person when I see one.

I’ve been outspoken about my issues with Pop’s coaching but you got to be some low level human to be mocking Pop having a health issue. That’s why I’m convinced GA has nothing going for him in life. He has to deal with Ls in his life on a daily basis.

One thing to consider with Mitch is what a lot of organizations go through when replacing a founder or high-profile, well known leader. Often times their successors have the toughest job imaginable, because they’re always being compared against “how the last person did it.” Because of this, often times CEO postings in this situations are intended to be transitional and temporary, understanding how difficult this is.

Mitch provides a nice transition, even if for a few years, to a new (hopefully) long-term solution.

With that said, I’d still like to see us go after Becky. Her and Mitch worked together, Mitch can still be lead assistant.

I’m not too worried about Mitch being a rookie head coach if he’s the successor. Every HC needs to be a rookie at some point. Someone mentioned how Pop was mentioned by greats in Don Nelson and Larry Brown… well, Mitch has been mentored by someone greater than both of those guys… Pop.

    Pop is a unique case

+ he's been mentrored by 2 of the greatest coaches of all time before (Brown and Nelson)

Pop is more than a coach, he's also "CIA Pop", the dude was a spy during the cold war ffs
Mitch Johnson is a unique case. He's been mentored by the greatest coach of all time, Gregg Popovich

I like what I've seen from Mitch so far. We run set plays at the first posession of the game and 2nd half. That give and go dribble hand off with CP3 on the side of the court for example. Victor also gets set up much better. We're playing modern basketball. He's very engaged on the sidelines and benches players for defensive mistakes. It's refreshing to see and better than what Pop was doing recently to be honest.

If he keeps this up, I have no problem with him getting the HC gig. I been saying for years we need a coach who's hungry to win.

I’m going to channel the spirit of TD 21 here and say that the head coach of a team doesn’t really dictate the wins and losses as much as people thinks it does. All a good coach does is MAYBE elevate a bad team into an average one. After that, it’s the talent of the top two or three players that take the team far into the playoffs.

Another sign of a good coach is keeping the egos in check. That’s it. Nothing spectacular about their contributions to wins and losses.
