If we could have fallen on 4 GA fumbles…
Our O-line got beat but so many chances to win and even blow them out.
They deserve the W they got.
Someone can correct me if I am misinterpreting, but committee was saying idle teams are set.
Notre Dame jumping Texas shouldn't be the case, unless the committee decides they like Penn State more and Texas gets the 7.
I would think it's...
5. Texas
6. ND
7. Penn State
ND sits out conf playoffs.
Must be a consideration.
Getting into a conf championship and losing thus dropping below opponents that don’t play is a nightmare for this playoff system.
But looking at conference schedules after the games are played shows inequities. Ex. Indiana failing to play either B1G team in the playoffs but at the same time having only one loss. Playoffs before playoffs is a problem.
And I forgot about Ohio St who also sat out but beat Penn St.
Messy.

Yes, ND at 7 makes sense due to no conference game and being idle.
Cannot believe no one mentioned the elephant in the room ....
Ewwwers is straight up garbage...I said this early in the season that ewwwers cost them a national le...
i knew he would choke again...SARK cost them the le by sticking to that garbage QB
would have liked the bye, but at least Texas should get two relatively easy matchups to work through for their two games. hopefully they can figure out some answers for their red zone scoring woes. figure that out, and they beat Georgia for the natty. Oregon, ohst and tenn don't scare me one bit. it's always been Georgia and bama that worried me most all season.
ewers had some poor play but definitely not all on him. he didn't have anything to do with:
- the constant idiotic false starts, offsides, holding penalties
- his receivers dropping multiple perfect passes
- auburn missing FGs, one of which he should have made, and actually did make initially but a stupid false start negated it
- guilbeau celebrating barrons INT and not paying attention to set the ONE block that would have sealed a pick6
- the numerous issues the oline had once again and allowing so much pressure with 4 man rushes
- the garbage plays sark was calling down the stretch, when it was clear all game that Georgia was conceding the middle of the field and intermediate passes, which Quinn ate up all game when given the opportunity.
quinn definitely has some flaws, and yes an elite QB could have overcame all those other team issues. but that's unfair to pin the game on him and say he sucks bc he couldn't overcome a plethora of issues the team had that are outside his control. he's a solid QB, plain and simple. not elite, not bad. just solid. and despite all that went wrong, they still nearly beat the team most people expected to win it all this season.
they are definitely not out of it.
Agree with all of this
Agree with this
Fun fact 2, Tech has 1 time:

Not sure how much longer Tommy Bowden stayed coach after that undressing by Leach.
What was the last time Texas played a game on TNT? Must have been like the very early 2000s?
If Sark has had an entire season or two to see what a choker ewwwers is and Sark has a future star sitting for the 2nd season in a row -
sark is incompetent, period.
to be fair Quinn has had some very good games and clutch moments as well. sure, he's no VY or colt, but still among the top 15 or so QBs in the nation.
he's not even a top 3 reason for this loss. penalties, crappy special teams, poor blocking by both oline and wr/te/rb, and lousy adjustments on offense were by far bigger issues than Quinn's play.
Everyone could have done better yesterday. The ream is 11-2. Hardly incompetent.
As far as the portal needs for the Longhorns I found the following helpful.
After the past few games watching Bond i think he's never truly healed because he's ran some horrible routes that are very unlike him.
