LOL oh my GOD at that commentary. I was too busy clapping to hear what they were saying.

"Rocky, Rocky is here, the most incredible victory in the history of MMA" Geez guys what are you

Kimbo Slice was always a side-show attraction, it is not like Fedor just got KO'd. I am thrilled that he is now done. No more Slice, at least in terms of people covering him so much. He fought a decent legit MMA fighter and he got schooled. Bye Bye Kimbo, well done Seth.

My guess is Affliction did a physical and ran once they saw how ruined his back is.
Yeah but if he has surgery he might come back better. o fought well against Evans, the same Evans that is getting a le shot. I think he has a few more fights in him. I really want to see him smash Frank Shamrock.

That "might" carries a massive price tag. I'm pretty sure o would want a piece of everything and they will want proof before they pay that tab.

This time next year o will have UFC on his 4.5oz gloves and will be fighting someone like Shogun or perhaps Frank. Frank can claim all he wants he hates the UFC but its only a matter of money and nothing else

So you think Elite-XC will still fold soon.

Huge debt...no fake headliner to fool people with...

We'll know more Monday when we see the ratings.

People can cry about Dana all they want but pro elite will be the worst thing to ever happen to MMA since about 6 orgs will die with them.

see look...angelbelow has a good pulse on mma...never seen a comment that made me scratch my head and yet angelbelow doesn't recognize Gina Carrano.

    EliteXC: Heat Ratings

    October 5, 2008

MMAPayout.com has learned EliteXC Saturday Night Fights drew 4.30 million viewers and a 1.8/ 6 among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m. The half hour breakdowns:

    9:00 p.m. – 3.53 million viewers (#4), A18-49: 1.3/ 4 (#3)
    9:30 p.m. – 4.48 million viewers (#3), A18-49: 1.9/ 6 (#2)
    10:00 p.m. – 4.37 million viewers (#3), A18-49: 1.9/ 6 (#1)
    10:30 p.m. – 4.84 million viewers (#3), A18-49: 2.2/ 7 (#1)

The 5/31 broadcast of EliteXC on CBS drew 4.3 million viewers and a 1.9/6 in the 18-49 demographic without the time over runs. The 7/26 broadcast, without Kimbo or Carano, drew 2.62 million viewers and a 1.0/3 in the 18-49 demographic from 9pm-11pm.

The household rating is not available yet, however if the numbers trend like those for the May broadcast, the rating will likely be in the 2.6-2.8 range. There were overages on last night’s card but not the large amount that boosted the final number for the May card. If there is any solace in the essentially flat numbers, they did capture the 18-49 demographic in the 10PM hour.

CBS EXEC "VERY HAPPY" WITH EARLY ELITEXC RATINGS

Kelly Kahl, Senior Executive Vice President for CBS Primetime Television, has revealed preliminary ratings for EliteXC’s “Heat,” which took place Saturday night in Sunrise, Fla.

The ratings exclude the final 20 minutes of the broadcast, which would presumably be the most-watched portion of the evening. Final ratings for the event will not be available until Tuesday.

According to Kahl 4.3 million people tuned into the broadcast throughout the course of the evening.

Amongst male viewers in the 18-34 and 18-49 year old age brackets, “Heat” took first place with a 2.5 rating. It also took first place in the adults (men and women) 18-34 category with a 1.8 rating. In the adults 18-49 category, it tied with ABC’s broadcast of college football with 1.8 rating.

The ratings for men and women in the 18-34 and 18-49 categories were down 11 percent and four percent, respectively, from EliteXC’s CBS debut in May, the last card to feature stars Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano.

Kahl stressed the ratings were a good sign of improvement after a lackluster showing at the second CBS-televised EliteXC card in July, particular impressive for the college football and baseball playoffs they aired against.

“I think we’ve clearly bounced back and we’re very happy,” he said.

The executive also addressed the many surprises of the evening, wanted and unwanted.

“In terms of Shamrock, that was a situation really out of our control,” Kahl continued. “We did what a professional organization would do. We got another quality fighter in the ring with Kimbo. We didn’t want to disappoint the audiences on television or in the arena. And we obviously put a good fighter in there. In terms of the surprising outcome, that’s just the fight game. Kimbo was a man for stepping up and taking the fight, and Petruzelli was a stud for taking it too. At the end of the day, we promised Kimbo Slice and we delivered Kimbo Slice.”

Kahl said there was no reason CBS wouldn’t broadcast a fourth EliteXC show.

“Our contract calls for four shows. We’ve said all along we’re planning to do four shows, and there’s nothing in these numbers that would suggest we won’t.”

In the hours after the show, critics were already proclaiming EliteXC’s doom. Kahl says the promotion’s detractors do not see the big picture.

“EliteXC is bigger than Kimbo Slice,” he said. “We’ve always anticipated that Kimbo Slice could take a loss someday. All MMA fighters do. They don’t have a grasp of the things that might be going on right now.”

Though it did not eclipse EliteXC’s CBS debut, Kahl is confident that the company’s plans to sign more talent, including former UFC light heavyweight champion o Ortiz, will make yesterday’s ratings more commonplace.

“It’s looking like the night is going to tuck into slightly behind the May card, but I think it’s hopefully more representative of the cards that we would do moving forward. Recognizing that there was a lot of hype around the first one, that the second was kind of an anomaly, because we did it in July when we weren’t able to support it as well with our CBS promotion. So I like to think this is the number we can look at going forward, which is a very solid, very sustainable number.”

Kimbo Slice got back in the ring last night for CBS’s EliteXC Saturday Night Fights and got pounded in the ring, losing to Seth Petruzelli in 15 seconds, and to Fox’s America’s Most Wanted in the ratings by 1.62 million viewers and 0.2 adults 18-49 demo ratings points. That’s exactly the same overnight viewership for Kimbo Slice from his bout on May 31, and just a tick down from the demo, but America’s Most Wanted was even stronger than it was on May 31.

I have never put much thought into the back and forth banter that exists between Jared Shaw and Dana White. Quite frankly, as promoters, their job is to promote their respective business and put asses in the seats. P.T. Barnum, perhaps the most well known promoter of all time was never shy when he claimed his primary goal was to "put money in his own coffers." Jared and Dana are no different in this regard.

Dana White is often criticized for underpaying his fighters, being outspoken, and downright y. Another thing Dana White is an unbiased observer at ringside, understanding that any fight, even a lopsided match up carries a human element in which anything can and will happen.

Some outcomes will surely benefit the organization better than others but as the promoter Dana never shows any favoritism while sitting ringside. It is safe to assume that while watching a Brock Lesnar fight, Dana is internally pulling for him, as he knows promoting Brock would bring countless rewards, but he wears his poker face regardless.

This brings me to Jared Shaw. In his first CBS main event, Kimbo was in trouble on the ground and while the punches from James Thompson were not doing much damage, there was action and Thompson did continue his assault. As the soft punches rained down, Jared Shaw could be seen at ringside, yelling hysterically at the referee to “stand the fight up” knowing Kimbo could not possibly win if the fight stayed on the ground.

Last night in the main event Seth Petruzelli had Kimbo in trouble immediately and again we have Jared Shaw in clear view at ringside yelling hysterically at the referee, complaining about blows to the back of the head.

If a promoter wants to bring a fighter along slow and make matches that play to his strengths there is not much we as the viewing public can do short of refusing to watch.

Jared Shaw sees the financial upside to Kimbo Slice continuing to win and this is no different than Dana White’s view of Brock Lesnar. This is however where the comparisons stop. While Dana sits at ringside in an unbiased manner, Shaw has now twice shown an over the top reaction to Kimbo being in trouble, going so far on both occasions to hysterically yell at the referee.

This public reaction is extreme favoritism at best, while trying to influence the actions of a referee is unethical and borderline illegal under most state athletic commission rules and should not be allowed to continue.

If Jared Shaw cannot control his favoritism and emotions he should watch Kimbo’s fights from the dressing room. In doing so, he will save himself the embarrassment of the inevitable slow motion replays showing him yelling hysterically at the referee.

Hows that for a wiener buzz kill.

and yes I am an ass for pointing that out.
I've been holding something back about this for a while - I don't care what excuse she gave for having trouble making weight. Chicks on their period do NOT wear white shorts. I call shens.

I'm so far out of bounds here I need to stop talking.......

But considering every time she has problems making weight I am inclined to agree this whole thing is BS.
