The only way I see this happening is if:

1) Detroit really wants to get under the lux and save some money this season, and

2) Rasheed really wants to play for the Spurs, has voiced that to Dumars, and Dumars is willing to grant his wish in exchange for expirings and picks.

If the Spurs pull this off as described and 2 or 3 players all wait the 30 days to all come back to SA, does anyone think the NBA will change that rule in the offseason?

Well doesn't Detroit owe Rasheed one because if he didn't refuse to play for Atlanta they may never have gotten him in the first place. The Pistons should try and accommodate him by trading him to a team he wants to play for like they did Billups.

If it is true with the Thunder that would be perfect. They have the draft picks and some solid rotational guys to be the third team. That would be the absolute best chance the Spurs have.
