He was a good defensive player in NJ because they had Martin and Mutumbo behind him. It is easy to gamble with a capable big. He will have that here with Tim. Do not forget that Bogut was injured much of the time so he did not have a reliable big.
I guess he forgot about this guy too. Man I really miss the young GinobiliDamn he still remembers Clax and Jax. Didn't he have another steal on jefferson just like this in another year.
Ahh, Manu had effortless hops back then.

I remember that year too for the many times the camera would just sort of randomly cut to shots of women's tops.![]()
I missed the press conference, does anyone know where I can watch it?
That doesn't prove anything
Could just be a pic of RJ wearing a Lloyd Daniels jersey, maybe he was a huge fan
I refuse to believe this trade is real until I see RJ in an actual Spurs game

I wanna see the video damn it!![]()
The great thing is -- and I haven't seen this get that much attention yet -- is that with RJ on the floor, Tony, Manu, and Tim are only going to get BETTER. Talk about a guy that needs some defensive attention; with RJ a constant threat to score, there will be no more double-teams. Before, the opponent could sag on Bowen, Udoka, even give Bonner and Mason some room. Now though, they need to devote their constant attention to FOUR guys.
Western Conference, take note: the Spurs just got younger, quicker, faster and more athletic. Now how does the Spurs' ass taste?
Full presser video is up with photogallery, also audio from Pop's conference call will be up shortly -

Thanks
Let us know when the Pop audo is up.
Thanks for keeping us updated spursdotcom.
Nice. Thanks a lot man.
I'm still taking this all in. It's hard to believe we went from complete uncertainty to full blown contender in a day...especially with all the past signing disappointments.
Please don't wake me...I'd like to stay here awhile longer.![]()
Coach Pop audio is up - http://www.nba.com/spurs/multimedia/...es_090624.html
Very interesting interview.
Thanks![]()
Listening to Pop it doesn't sound like Bowen will be back. Jefferson will be the man guarding the other teams best player from now on.
It doesn't sound like Bowen will be back because the Spurs can't talk about that. The league will penalize the Spurs and could possibly rescind the trade if the Spurs show any sign whatsoever of wanting to bring back Bowen, Oberto, or Thomas, if they were bought out. The NBA would see that as some sort of pre-arranged agreement.
