well I opened the door and you can hear the "rain" (I don't know what is categorized as sleet) coming down much harder. I walked outside and was being pelted by tiny tiny balls of ice.

Definitely sleet. Thats really surprising to me. Where in town are you?

Ok, I didn't know if there was a difference between sleet and freezing rain. Then it is sleeting over here.

So you're right in the middle of the band and you're getting sleet. I'm pretty shocked by that. I don't know what to think other than the force field has something to it.

I'm fairly certain it's gone from sleet to snow, it's still coming down but it's a lot more quiet and thicker/whiter (lol).

Sleet will fall quickly (its basically frozen rain drops) - Snow will "float" down much slower and much quieter.

well, it sleeted enough to turn the side walks white, I don't know if it is still sleeting, but I know that there is still no snow.

I ain't getting on the other side of town. I can feel tons of water vapor in the air though exactly like a couple of hours ago when we got the sucking sleet/freezing rain. And my sidewalk is a death trap.
