I do agree w/o Dice our bench sucks and pop is playing the bonner/blair awful lineup
No excuse not to play him when Bonner is not making 3's...he gives nothing else.
On paper this is not a bad trade for Boston, I do like Green and Boston was awsome w/o Perkins during all year. Maybe they underestimated the emotional impact of the trade on the team
I wouldnt say that. The Spurs should worry about locking up the West before even thinking about securing home court throughout....
It's because he didn't get Ginobili and McDyess out at the first stoppage. Then there wasn't another one until past the 5:00 minute mark (when he usually subs them), so he burned a second timeout just to sub them out. By then, the entire rotation was thrown out of whack. The inexplicable 10 minute Duncan benching killed the team and probably ended the game. What's he saving him for? They don't play again until Friday.
Splitter should be the secondary defender on the elite face-up four's, which is what Bosh is. He wouldn't have any more trouble than Bonner off the dribble and he's as long, if not slightly longer than Bosh. I have no idea why Pop hasn't groomed him to play that role, because it's desperately needed against many of the elite teams.
The Blair-Bonner combo is a killer against elite teams, especially one with three guys who consistently get to the line like the Heat. Splitter needs to play. You can't have no one who can protect the rim out there for a long stretch against a team like this and expect to have success.
Z is out tonight
It looks like pop messed with "if it aint broke dont fix it". He might have overeacted to the lakers loss, and broke the balance of our team, it would be ok if splitter was getting minutes, but he isn't so our bench has no center!
Why worry bout whats goin in the East?
Hopefully Pop plans on playing Duncan 18 plus minutes in the second half.
Spurs run coming in the 3rd....that tells the story of the majority of the season
if they get to the finals they want home court
Aight hopefully Pop slapped some sense into these es and we gon' jump on the cHeat early. I want to be in the lead before the 3rd is over
We're 6 games up on Boston and Chicago - I really doubt anyone is going to catch the Spurs (unless the Spurs have a total meltdown).
This is a deficit that I sorta blame on pop because of inexplicable line-ups but the bench having a bad game, and the refs leaning toward the heat are making it uglier than it should be.
why can't we make shots T.T
Good defense to start the 3rd, SMH
The Spurs will have NO CHANCE of winning tonight's game with calls like that going for the Heat. NO CHANCE.
Ah, Joey...
You might be right. If it's a emotion/team chemistry issue then the onus falls on Garnett to buck up. Ever since he was gifted to Boston we've been hearing the narrative about his supposed stellar leadership qualities.
Well, it looks like the refs are picking up right where they left off. I guess Stern called them during halftime and told them to "keep up the good work".![]()
