All of us can choose what we read, listen to and research. The problem as I see it is the focus to find the read that makes our guy look the most favorable versus a search for the truth. I don't agree that we are doomed.
I just have a hard time blaming the media for the system that placed these two candidates, and basically only these two candidates, in the ballot... just IMO.

I should add, Bush did win reelection, and the GOP did win and do extremely well in 2010. Was the media informing better those times? I think it's a bit disingenuous to just pin it on that. From a realistic point of view, I think the media will cater more towards what people express interest in, which is overwhelmingly the economy. That's why you'll probably hear 10 stories on "what's the gas price today" for each "what really happened in Lybia?". Which I also think is what happened with the wiretap stuff back in the day.
fair point. i just think the media gets too caught up in creating narratives and playing the blue team/red team thing instead of simply informing or investigating to the best of their abilities. I feel like that is their basic job and they suck at it. DC is too much of a hole and the media unfortunately becomes part of the cesspool and status quo. fortunately we have lots of other means of media and news in this country
No. Brother, at this point all Romney has to do to win a debate is hold Obama to his 4 years. You can't run from it. Obama lied at every turn. His real first bill he signed was gitmo not that women's bill. The no earmarks in the stimulus bill promise. Well, there were THOUSANDS of them. Healthcare debate on CSPAN, it was done behind closed doors. I can go on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Its ridiculious how much silliness obama has spewed over the years. Romney held the president accountable. As you know economy is pretty much the most important things going around and Obama has failed miserably. Obama said the deficit would be cut in half, it has doubled. Brothers, that is huge. It has doubled. This crazy irresponsible spending Obama has so eloquently pointed out 4 years ago DOUBLED!!!! Obama wants to blame other people for his words. He had control of the senate and house. He hasn't had a budget. Brother, it's time for a change and Romney is it. The dems had an oppurtunity to replace their candidate and they chose not to. Obama biggest enemy is Obama. The blue bloods want to bury their head in the sand and pretend the last 4 years didn't happen. God bless

Their fiduciary duty is to their shareholders, not the public at large. While there's an obvious connection between credibility and viewership, when it comes to picking stories, don't be surprised if they pick what pays the bills.
I'll apologize for the snarkiness; you're not really a poster who deserves it. I just think there's so many more important things to focus on in this election than the Benghazi attack.
While the attack might not have been caused by the video, weren't the other riots in other countries caused by the video? I would say that while it might not have been a causal factor, it certainly didn't seem to help.
