I often agree with Pop politically, but I can't support a ban on semiautomatic rifles. It's horrible seeing them used in mass shootings and I don't really have a good answer for how to stop them, but what scares the out of me is this country turning into Venezuela. We have already taken the first step in that direction by electing an authoritarian sociopath who is constantly going after the free press and trying to undermine it. I want to live in a country where we can shoot back if the government and army are trying to steal our food, our medicine, and so on like you're seeing in Venezuela right now. Our citizens having access to assault rifles is a huge check and balance against that kind of overreach.

If the government and army turn against the people you are already ed, tbh.
