Whats up with Messi?! Will he play at all? He is too good to sit on the bench, IMO.
They're playing it safe. He has been out for a long time, with a lingering injury that demands caution. Had the situation required it, I'm sure he would have played. Since Argentina was on top the whole match, then they saved him and he has almost a full week to get in rythm.

Diving and the exagerated acting is the one thing I can't stand about Soccer. I hate how players are somehow hurt 24038043748937 times a game yet they are fine 2 minutes after their near death experience. Almost every team does it. I hate it.
How exactly were you thinking Manu learned?

yeah, and you're forgetting England, Brasil, Holland, you know, the other usual suspects
mah, i guess what bothered me the most about Saviola's & Sorin's "fall" was that it wasn't even your typical "i'm near the penalty box, let me fall and see if i can get something" flop, it didn't bring any significant advantage to their team - almost like a flop for the sake of flopping. And it could backfire on Argentina, if the refs get warned about argentina's tendencies upon reviewing the tapes.

anyway a win is a win.

That Argentina coach sucks. I have no idea why he didn`t play Messi or at least Julio Richardo Cruz. Argentina˙s defense was very bad, they had a lot of luck that they had not lost that game. IC played great game but they missed a lot of good chances.
Today is game betwen Serbia and Netherland. I hope that Serbia will win, but it is going to be very tough.
    Serbia 2-1 Netherland

GO DEJAN STANKOVIC GO, AND SCORE A GOAL.

T&T deserved that point. I thought the Swedes played a complacent game early. Hislop and the T&T back line were good enough when they had to be, and damn if they didn't fight like crazy after John's red.
A dutch coach does it again (see South Korea last time)!!!

    Ok, ok.
Holland vs. the Serbs is on in 4 hours.
This is the easiest game of the group, but still we can get our asses kicked.
I don't see us meating the Ivory Coast or Argentina so we need to win big this afternoon!

i don't know about the easiest part.
S&M finnished 1st in their group ahead of Spain, Bosnia, Belgium, Lithuania and San Marino. Won 6 draw 4, no defeats, 16 goals scored only 1 (!) received.
They are good players and well organized, which is very untypical for Balkan teams - must be the influence of recent greek succes with such aproach.

i'm not noticing it just now, i just think it's pathetic.
Argentina was the first on this WC to demonstrate it so blatantly.

i'm sure we'll see more of it on this WC. (Spain, Italy, Croatia - the usual suspects)
And this is coming from someone with this guy (Edwin van der Sar):

    on his signature?

I still remember him rolling down the ground in the 1998 WC as if Ortega had struck him with an iron or something, when he barely touched him... shame on Ortega for being an idiot, but van der Sar should have gotten an Oscar for his acting performance.

Since you either are Dutch, or you root for the Netherlands (considering van Gaal is your avatar, and van der Sar is your signature), what do you have to say about one of the most infamous floppers in the world, Arjen Robben? does your judgement extend to him as well?

There's nothing worse than the hypocritical convenience disguised as virtue.

If a dutch player goes down like somebody chopped his leg off, when nobody even touched him, i promise i'll call him out.

Good, but it's not if and when it happens, because it already has happened, as I pointed out to you. Since you have arguably the best flopper around in Arjen Robben, next time you make reference to the 'usual suspects', please make sure you include yourselves amongst them, alright? After all, it all starts at home...

well Robben totally floped at the end of the game, but at least he draw a contact. Van Persie looked su ous, but i couldn't see it in the replay - if he wasn't touched consider him called out.
all in all not too good of a second half.

Dutch D looks shake, we'll see how they do against tougher challanges. They lack firepower upfront too, but midfield looks great.

This should be a good match. Iran has talent and has the underdog motivation.

The mexican channel may be better. They will show more excitement on the goals. ABC has too many graphics over the game at times. They will even show graphics for some of their upcoming shows.

There is even a second or two video delay in the ABC broadcast compared to Univision, at least here in connecticut its that way.
