-we are WEAK at 2/3.... this will be our downfall
-Dragic and Smodis (yeah i repeat myself) NBA players
-Lakovic is too weak.. not enough kilos; he has heart but he gets bullied around and makes too many turnovers
-Why didnt capin play more?
-Baragnani looked BAD... but he was covered by smodis
his turnovers bother me more than shot selection

E. Lorbek was (almost) no threat in offense and no presence in defense. With Rasho, out paint wouldn't be wide open for drive-ins
And with Rasho in, we would be wide open for Italians fouling him and putting him on the free throw line. And we all know how that works.

E. Lorbek did nothing in offence, nothing. Rasho could've easily done the same.

Don't get me wrong. It's not like I'm trying to defend E. Lorbek. His game, and game from Laković made me puke.
Coach Pipan had to make some decisions for last 5 minutes and he made them.
Fact is that in the end of the games Rasho is a liability because of his ridiculous free throw percentage.
But,I do wonder why Rasho didn't get any minutes at the begining of the last QT, because his game was ROCK SOLID.
Italians would foul him with or without a ball in his hands. On the other hand Lorbek is known for his offensive abilities. Slovenian team has problems scoring under pressure (we got a lot of evidence in previous years), so Pipan tried to do something different. It didn't work, but he tried and that counts in my book.
On the other hand Lakovič is repeating same mistakes over and over again. His lack of vision is getting beyond stupid. His desission making isn't questionable any more, it just BAD.
His mistakes are rookie mistakes. And I have a high school rookie in mind.
If he missed that last shot, his teammates would have killed him in the tunnel. Lucky bas .
I agree with everything you wrote excpet this sentence.
You probalbly haven't watched the Latvia/Croatia game, where Biedrins was in the game late in the fourth quarter and he is known for his bad free throw shooting. Kasun was trying to commit a foul. He was hugging, pushing and holding Biedrins, but all 3 referees just ignored him.
I'm not saying that this would certainly happen in our game as well, but Pipan could at least try to play with Rasho for a minute or two.
Capin is out. Knee injury.
All in all its the same story with our NT. Good start against a worthy team with a total breakdown in last couple of minutes, where noone knows what to do or where to go. So its down to last couple of plays to get a lucky win or "unlucky" lost game. No character.
So i predict a hard fought win against poland and loses to all next opponents and away we go.

I have to agree, maybe one more surprising win after Poland, but this team just lacks enough quality to be consistent throughout the tournament.
The loss of Capin really hurts. Now everytime any of Dragic/Lakovic is in foul trouble Klobucar (or god forbid Cebular) will get extended time. Plus it all but eliminates the posibility of Dragic and Lakovic on the court at the same time.
Yesterday was a great day for Slo fans. Lakovič really made a great shot. I'm just mad on Pipan and his tactics. Why the didn't he play Rasho?! Erazem Lorbek was not playing good and Pipan still kept him in the game. That was stupid.
Now lets just win Poland and go in the next round.
