Gosh, I don't want anyone to get into trouble. Is there a way I can just write a check and settle this? Do you take credit cards?
It's for moments like this that I log on.
The special moments.

Uhhh . . . yes.
The Lakers have the best player in the NBA and they have the best overall offense in the NBA. Their frontcourt, while not particularly physical, is long, athletic, and extremely quick. (quite a tough combination for the spurs' frontline, which has players who are more physical but much slower) I personally think the lakers are a very tough matchup for the spurs (easily the toughest of the three other teams remaining in my opinion). If you watched the Jazz series, you saw what the Lakers frontline did to a slower, more physical Utah frontline: They dominated them. Of course, the big difference there is Duncan is an all time great player and Boozer isn't. Also, the Lakers are another very deep team with shooters at every position. I worry about Gasol getting Duncan into foul trouble because he's very aggressive around the basket and draws a lot of fouls. And even if Duncan is able to get him into foul trouble in retaliation, Gasol getting into foul trouble is no where near as big a deal to the lakers as Duncan getting into foul trouble is to the spurs. This is because the Spurs run their offense through Duncan (especially against teams that like to run like the Lakers and Suns) while the Lakers run their offense through Kobe. Also, Lamar Odom is playing better than he ever has before in the playoffs. (Although I still need to see him do it against a big team before I trust him - he was awful against the suns the past few years and his teams paid for it by getting their asses kicked in all three of those series) I think he could be a rough matchup for whoever guards him because of his combination of footspeed, ball skills, and length. We'll see though. I'm pulling for the spurs. I hate the Lakers (who doesn't right?). I'm never going to count out the champs.
You should hire this lawyer to represent. I hear he's the best:

Denny Crane
damn man... and I had such high hopes for you. Such potential...
I guess if you can't be famous, might as well be infamous, huh?
I have to say, I haven't seen this level of self-PWNAGE since TheWriter. Its quite a remarkable achievement really. You should be proud![]()
DAMMIT, I missed a bet that I could skip out on hahahha. He said find out in a week, then changed it to 2 weeks. Even his own Lakers fans are laughing at this guy.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes .04 Byatches!!!
This guy definitely has a legal leg to stand on. aka_USAPA, please PM me and for a small fee I'll advise your lawyer on the best way to proceed with your lawsuit.
Then you can pay the bills like Kori & L.J.
Even though I dont want to get off the hijacked topic, there is no way you can make a shot like that in .04. That is all
Now I'm extremely pissed that I went to sleep last night and missed all the fun.

Any lawyer will tell you that this is an unenforcable contract, even if it wasn't void to begin with.
Business law 101.
You cannot legally enforce bets in states where it is illegal.
In this case there is no legal basis for the contract, and it is void (i.e. never created in the first place).
This is similar in form to forming a contract to rob a bank. "I will pay you $1000 if you rob the bank for me."
If the future robber renegs on the deal, the guy who wanted to pay has no recourse in court.
I am not a lawyer by any means, but this issue was addressed rather specifically in my business law classes by the professor. I recall her talking very specifically about bets being unenforcable contracts and why. (yes, I made "A"s in both of the graduate classes I took)
(shrugs)
There are a few lawyers that acctually post here, and I am sure they can either correct me or confirm this.
Let me know how that pans out.![]()
This poor guy is going to be posting under a different name from here on out.
Kori should out all his trolls under his IP.
The guy is still asleep at this point, or probably late to work, depending.
I am sure he will be back. He has been here for 3+ years, if not an active poster for obvious reasons.
I kind of feel bad for this guy. Not only did he get pwned on the bet but he made himself look more like a by threatening to bring lawyers into this. If he takes the internets as serious as it seems, he might already be dead.
I remember Carlos Boozer's terrific defense from last year's playoffs, when he held perennial All-Star Fabricio Oberto to 10 points and 8 rebounds on 70% shooting.
..........that was a great read from page 8 on........
