don't worry, you love toll roads.
AG Barr's refusal to accede to the "Mueller's over" narrative, along with the Noel Francisco brief alluded to in the Marcy Wheeler thread posted upstream, may suggest Barr and Francisco are in the huddle with Mueller.
don't worry, you love toll roads.
Wheeler sketches out the conspiracy:
https://www.emptywheel.net/2019/02/2...cy-agreements/We know of at least five conversations at which various people entered into what I describe as a quid pro quo conspiracy:
- January 20, 2016, when Michael Cohen told Dmitry Peskov’s personal assistant that Trump would be willing to work with a GRU-tied broker and (soft and hard) sanctioned banks in pursuit of a $300 million Trump Tower deal in Russia.
- June 9, 2016, when Don Jr, knowing that currying favor with Russia could mean $300 million to the family, took a meeting offering dirt on Hillary Clinton as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.” At the end of the meeting, per the testimony of at least four attendees, Don Jr said they’d revisit Magnitsky sanctions if his dad won.
- August 2, 2016, when Paul Manafort and Rick Gates had a clandestine meeting with Konstantin Kilimnik at which Trump’s campaign manager walked Kilimnik through highly detailed poll data and the two discussed a “peace” plan for Ukraine understood to amount to sanctions relief.
- December 29, 2016, when (working on instructions relayed by KT McFarland, who was at Mar-a-Lago with Trump) Mike Flynn said something to Sergey Kislyak that led Putin not to respond to Obama’s election-related sanctions.
- January 11, 2017, when Erik Prince, acting as a back channel for Trump, met with sanctioned sovereign wealth fund Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO Kirill Dmitriev.
Trump always accuses others of he's done.
I thought Dennison said he believed Putin when he said he didn't interfere in the 2016 election.
Which is it?
Does he belive Putin or not?
Those walls are closing in at a glacial pace
How long have special/independent counsel investigations lasted in the past, Darrin?
Give actual numbers for once in your life.
On Hillary?
To be sure.
Six people on team Trump guilty so far, walls closing in on Stone quickly.
Do you think Mueller is done?
How about SDNY?
Watching paint dry

For a SCI, it's been most expeditious by historical standards.
To compare this investigation to the rapidly melting glaciers maybe isn't the most apropos metaphor for what you're trying to say.
For legal process, the tempo has been fairly brisk.
In fairness, that has been largely due to the fact that so many have pled guilty rather than risk a trial.
Now that the targets are white, rich and Republican, your concern about coercive pleading and the mundane powers of prosecutors seems to have been activated.
Court records reveal a Mueller report right in plain view
Actually, Russia was doing more than listening:
It had been trying to help Republican Trump for months.
That very day, hackers working with Russia’s military intelligence tried to break into email accounts associated with Clinton’s personal office.
It was just one small part of a sophisticated election interference operation carried out by the Kremlin
— and meticulously chronicled by special counsel Robert Mueller.
We know this, though Mueller has made not a single public comment since his appointment in May 2017.
We know this, though the full, final report on the investigation, believed to be in its final stages, may never be made public. It’s up to Attorney General William Barr.
We know this because
Mueller has spoken loudly, if indirectly, in court —
indictment by indictment,
guilty plea by guilty plea.
In doing so, he tracked an elaborate Russian operation that injected chaos into a U.S. presidential election and
tried to help Trump win the White House.
He followed
a GOP campaign that embraced the Kremlin’s help and championed stolen material to hurt a political foe.
And ultimately, he revealed layers of lies, deception, self-enrichment and hubris that followed.
Woven through thousands of court papers, the special counsel has made his public report.
This is what it says.
