Bad loss against a team the Spurs would be 19 times out of 20 but in an 82 game season, you are going to lay eggs like this. At least the Spurs stayed healthy.

Plus, this gives something for Pop to nag about over the break so that there's no complacency. It's also a reminder that they are far from in playoff form. This loooooong plane ride home is going to be a good reality check. It's still January, the defense still isn't good enough and they can't rest on what they've accomplished recently. The Spurs still have a long ways to go before they are a championship quality team.

    poor effort tonight..

you know you're going to lose when Roko makes 2 3's though..he has solid penetration ability, but he's a 19% 3-point shooter..so for those that question Parker letting him shoot the 3, don't..it was a good decision..

also, very uncharacteristic ending for us, basically described the effort in the game..we're the best clutch team in the NBA, but that's the shot we get off to end it? LOL sad..

losses like this happen, but it was a poor effort..

I don't usually blame Pop for losses, but I think this one is on him. I watched every second of the game. I was screaming the entire time to get Finley out of the game. Whoever he was guarding suddenly got hot. Barginari (sp.) wasn't doing anything until Pop moved Finley on him. Then all of a sudden, he was jacking up 3's. Then George came in and the other urik whatever the scrub's name was he started shooting like jordan. Pop should have played Thomas more. I don't understand why Finley was in at the end. He didn't do anything to help the team tonight. This one is on POP.
Manu was FANTASTIC. I wish that they inbounded to him.
Why was Tony inbounding the ball instead of Timmay??

This one is on POP. I also didn't like all the crazy lineups in the first half. You know the ones that initially got the hot shooting started.
Why won't George Hill drive the ball and be aggressive?

    OK I'm finished venting now.
Here's to a memorable terrific second half of the season.

Pop had something to do with the loss aswell so he can't chew them out too bad (not putting a longer body on Roko in the final minute).

    No, how about you.

I'm sick of all the whining turds around here who lose it when things don't go their way, so if I see someone say something rational he deserves some dap.

Now off back to your hole.

I'll live with Ukic shooting a double hesitation line drive three-pointer. Especially considering he was 7-for-37 on threes coming into this game

Does the team need a trade Timvp? That is the question IMO.

I don't think they should be desperate for a trade because this team playing at near 100% of their capabilities can win a championship.

But, with teams desperate to get rid of salaries for both economic reasons and to open space for 2010, the Spurs should definitely be a buyer in this market.

Yup, my thinking too. if we can rip away a decent defensive big from another team without giving up too much, do it, otherwise I'm not against going into the trenches with these guys.

If you can get a Brad Miller or Marcus Camby on the cheap, you go for it obviously.

I just don't think trading for Joe Smith or Chris Wilcox improves the team.

Occasionally good teams lose nail-biters to bad teams, especially when they are tired and out of sync. Get over it.
As if Toronto was not tired. They played last night, as well, and even at an hour later than the Spurs did, and they were missing arguably their 2 best players.

It is sad that we lost to Toronto, especially since they happen to be missing their all-star.

The recap for anyone that missed it.

Ukic scores career-high 22 points for Raptors

“We shouldn’t have lost this one,” Ginobili said. “It’s important to go into the break feeling good about yourself and on a good stretch. We were playing a team that isn’t doing so well and has two injured players, so we should have done much better.”

Manu has to be a right to be pissed off, the Spurs wasted a great effort from him.
