To be fair, he was not raving. The source was a well known local sports radio personality and he was just reporting what he heard.
they want expiring contracts so they go after a carlos boozer or any other big man this year they are pretty sure wallace will walk this summer so mite as well get something in return but i dont believe it will be finley and oberto that would be a bigger steal then the gasol trade i say even bonner and splitter might be in the trade

I'm thinking the exact same thing..getting a team that has a "relationship" with the Spurs helps us tremendously, especially when it's a rebuilding team..Oklahoma already has their core, and they'll be getting another lottery pick this year as well, so they don't have much to lose right now..
it's still too good to be true though, so I'll wait before I get excited..it's just too convenient that the rumor is that we're getting Duncan's PERFECT compliment, who just happens to be a PERFECT fit against the Lakers..
if we can trade Finley and keep him away from Pop, that's even better too.....kidding, of course![]()
I just got off the phone with my contact in Detroit. I can't tell you guys his name, but he's high up... and his last name rhymes with Doomahrz (silent 'h'). Anyway, he said to keep reading this thread, because in the end, something definitely might or might not happen... maybe. So we'll just have to wait and see.
Not my words.
Billups is going to convince the Nuggets FO to go back into luxury tax for Sheed![]()
Then my bad. Still, it seems like trades that happen rarely have a whole bunch of build up, no one hears about them prior to them happening.
To quote what someone once said at SpursReport.com, this guy was super insider...
A trade is likely to happen. But things can happen and the trade could end up not happening.

I agree with that. But it is still exciting to talk about, especially when anyone of importance says something on the radio.
Hey Borosai, what's your av from?
"Zack and Miri Make a Porno"
I'll bet it is, Timmy Tony Manu & Sheed is a scary prospect for the rest of the league.
I know there are plenty of KT haters on this board, but having KT as your 3rd best interior defender is a huge luxury, especially against a team with Bynum Gasol and Odom.
Sheed KT
Timmy Bonner
Bowen Finley
Mason Manu
Parker Hill
That ain't bad![]()
wow i have an important case study due tomorrow but im going tor read thru everything.
Kurt Thomas would easily be one of the best bench big men in the NBA, same with Bonner..that's what makes acquiring a legit starting big even better..
Like everyone else has said, what's the value for DET?
The team they have is good enough to make the playoffs and generate some nice playoff revenue for the franchise. Sheed will walk next in the offseason, they get the capspace they want.
the key to this trade will be the Thunder IMO..
as for trading Sheed..Detroit is going to make the playoffs either way, so I don't think the revenue is an issue at all..it's also possible that Sheed has demanded a trade behind the scenes, and they'll take expiring contracts for him, which would be the same as losing him..
I don't think the Pistons would take our offer without getting something from OKC as well, or without Sheed saying something to management..our deal isn't that good for them, unless they're high on Mahinmi, or if they believe Splitter will eventually join them..
I just don't see this trade going down..
Sheed for Bonner
if the salaries worked out, i wouldn't be surprised if a deal went down
hopefully its works
if not ur banned
Because they can keep their cap space + gain 5 million dollars cash (instead of paying 2 million, they avoid the luxury tax and get 3 million)
It also gives Amir and Maxiell more court time. see Stuckey, Rodney
Might be surprising but I like Bonner, he averaged more than Sheed in couple of last games and he is much younger (still developing). Best scenario is: Finley,Oberto, Bowen for Sheed
google DU MA.....and tell me what you get
Don't you think Dumars is thinking that a Stuckey/George Hill backcourt in Detroit would bring back the Isaiah/Dumars days?
I think he might require Hill to be part of the deal. I'm sure the Spurs are against it, but it's an interesting thought for the Pistons, and something the Spurs have to strongly consider.
Hill has been really good for us, but he's a backup PG. So, may be a big decision.
