When it comes to Spurs...cant get enough news huh...
sometimes it is better to be the last team to speak to a player.
I'm just sayin...if he desperately wanted to be a C, he would've been one by now already. Sheed isnt an idiot...he knows the situation in Boston, SA, and Cleveland or anywhere else already. He knows the staff, coaches, players, etc. He doesnt really need to interview with everyone to know all of the main things already. Hopefully right now he's laughing it up with RC and Pop as they come to a deal..

There is an Insider rumors blog that is led "imagine Duncan, Jefferson, Sheed". Its on the espn site. I dunno if anyone can get access to that. You need to be an Insider subscriber i guess. I'm curious to know that writers take on the possibilities with that hardcourt combo :O.
Amen brothah! Lots of things go into the decision if salaries are the same, what's his role, how many minutes of PT, team chemistry. If there is someone willing to do a 3 year deal who is it? What's the city like etc. etc. etc. He's going to weigh out all his options. Gotta think Boston and SA are frontrunners but if this does string out, how long is waiting too long to commit? Don't want to miss out on other FA's (i.e Dyess). Gotta have faith that the FO knows what they're doing. Meethinks they do...
Nothing new. Just an excerpt from the Express-News with a fancy new le.
I imagine that they are talking to all their prospects simultaneously and that they will indeed have a "gotta know" date.
+ 1 FO know their business.
at this post on the Celtics board over at ESPN.com:
Sheed to Boston For Sure

I just saw, met, and talked to Sheed, Ray Allen, KG, Paul Pierce, Doc Rivers and their agent. I wash windows during the summer and was working at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, and noticed them as I was leaving. I went up and said Hi to them, and talked to Doc and Ray for a bit. Sheed and KG were laughing and having the greatest time so I guarantee he's gone. Their agents pulls me aside and says "We were never here, don't tell anyone."

What if we wait 'till Sheed makes up his mind, he doesn't sign with us and all the other good options aren't available anymore?
It's not like it was a big secret or anything.
That is the cost of waiting TOO long. That is why Pop, RC, & TD gotta be straight up with Sheed and say hey..."Do you wanna ing win or not?" Plain and simple as that...![]()
I don't think the Spurs were ever lucky with these long courtship BS. My bet is Sheed is gone.
Pop would leave no witnesses. The Celtics are soft.
Sheed just wants the dog and pony show- which is part of the reason I don't like him for the Spurs. He has been in the NBA plenty long to know the teams and the players and to know what would be the best fit. He is just playing them all against one another and enjoying being the center of all the FA attention.
That must have been a big day for the window washer. Its hard to imagine meeting and talking to ALL of those guys. I remember seeing Sheed in the Venetian in Las Vegas. He had a big Eagles jersey on and was walking through the outer rim of the casino. A guy approached him for an autograph and he didn't even speak to him. He just shook his head "no" and kept walking.
The fan was hilarious. He reminded me of Steve Bushemi from Fargo. He was saying "O C'mon Sheed. You're not even going to talk to me ? Not a word ? Dude, I'm a huge fan ! Ah ..........whateva..."
So...window washer guy, it was your lucky day. I guarantee you.
Sheed doesn't know the situation in Boston, SA or Cleveland yet because he's never talked to Boston's, Cleveland's or San Antonio's head coach about what kind of a role he'd have on those teams. If he has, then someone is guilty of tampering.
the whole spurs team should role in a bus with R.C, Holt and Pop lol that be a good laugh and joke on the celtics
What if we don't wait long enough and settle for someone not as good? That's why NBA GM's get paid a lot of money. This stuff is hard.
??
How is that tampering? He's a free agent.
He means it's impossible to have talked to all of them about his role in 1 day, he would have had to have talked to them before the FA period started..making it tampering..
It's simple, and he knows it. There is a BIG hole in the Spurs big-man department, and a starting spot just waiting for him. In Boston, he knows he may not start with KG & Perkins there.
Well Rasheed probably has legitimate concerns about playing PF ahead of Finley..he might be coming off the bench here..
