and everything was once again right in the world.....thank u basketball GODS
Yup, i was thinking it was going to be a strain. I'm guessing a sprained elbow isn't as bad as a sprained ankle basketball-wise. Especially to a guy who's left handed. I say he's back for game 3 in Memphis.
a sprain is a tear in the ligament (in medical terms i believe), if it's mild he could be back soon if it's severe he's done.
Dammit, well on the upside it sounds like it's not too serious and there is no major damage.
He'll play. He's a f***in' warrior.
Sprain Severity
* Grade I Sprain: A grade I (mild) sprain causes overstretching or slight tearing of the ligaments with no joint instability. A person with a mild sprain usually experiences minimal pain, swelling, and little or no loss of functional ability. Bruising is absent or slight, and the person is usually able to put weight on the affected joint.
* Grade II Sprain: A grade II (moderate) sprain causes partial tearing of the ligament and is characterized by bruising, moderate pain, and swelling. A person with a moderate sprain usually has some difficulty putting weight on the affected joint and experiences some loss of function. An x-ray or MRI may be needed.
* Grade III Sprain: A grade III (severe) sprain results in a complete tear or rupture a ligament. Pain, swelling, and bruising are usually severe, and the patient is unable to put weight on the joint. An x-ray is usually taken to rule out a broken bone. This type of a muscle sprain often requires immobilization and possibly surgery. It can also increase the risk of an athlete having future muscles sprains in that area.
"Doubtful" I wouldnt be surprised if hes out there
i don't think it's a great sign that they aren't giving a definite timetable....

Manu Ginobili Doubtful For Game 1
![]()
SAN ANTONIO (April 14, 2011) - Spurs guard Manu Ginobili had an MRI earlier today in San Antonio. The MRI showed that he has a right elbow sprain. The injury occurred in the first quarter of last night’s Spurs-Suns game. Ginobili has already begun his rehabilitation process and will be listed as doubtful for Game 1 of the Spurs-Grizzlies series, which is scheduled for noon on Sunday at the AT&T Center.
Thats not bad, its still the Grizzlies we are talking about here....
I think it's CIA Pop. He'll be ready to go like Tony against Miami
FWIW, i believe Derek Fisher was diagnosed with a sprained elbow earlier this year and he didn't miss any games. Not sure if the severity is comparable.
Manu is going to play.![]()
yeah, it was against the Bobcats..he came back the very next game..
TP out 2-4 weeks, plays after 5 days.
Manu doubtful for game 1? I bet he's tossing shotputs with that right arm at this moment.
I wouldnt be surprised if he's out there on Sunday. If not, for sure on Wednesday....
If he's not officially out for Sunday's game, we can think that he can play on G2
Manu doubtful for game one via twitter.
Goddamn we dodged a missle there.
elujah. Sprain is probably the best case scenario for an injury like that.
As long as he has no ligament damage, he'll be fine. I'd be surprised if he misses more than one game.
Seriously? This is the best case scenario considering when it happened it looked like his season was over.
