Panthers signed former New England DB Robert McClain. He should see considerable time in the slot and on the outside. We should see a lot more traditional 4-3 this game with Shaq Thompson due to the injury of Bene.

Cameron Artis-Payne should be making his highly-touted debut for us. He looked great in the preseason and was the leading rusher last year in the SEC (if I'm not mistaking).

    injury report:
    Charles Tillman - active
    Greg Olsen - probable
    Jonathan Stewart - out
    Colin Jones - out

We always hear about the speed of Ted Ginn Jr. So just how fast is he?

While in HS he was a 10.5 100m man and was a great hurdler, and if track had been his thing he would have done something at the NCAA level. There is no doubt he's faster than a 10.5, (Reggie Bush a 10.4 in HS) I have no problems going with a 10.35ish if he'd got serious about track after HS, maybe even a 10.2ish (Deion Sanders 10.26).

Ginn also ran on his HS4x4 team, which tells us he has some serious long range speed. Few hurdlers/100m sprinters want any part of a 400m, yep ,it hurts.

So when we hear...."he's one of the fastest players in the league"...yep, that's true. When we hear..."he has world class speed"...nope, that isn't true. "World Class" speed, is sub 10.10. Jacoby Ford 10.01, Trindon Holliday 10.00 had world class speed. The Raiders have had a half dozen guys with "World Class" speed, that's crazy.

There is no cornerback out there today that can run with Ted Ginn, actually in the history of the game only Darrell Green, Deion Sanders, Henry Carr (Olympic sprinter), Lenny Lyles and ...hmmm?....I think that's it. Could have ran with him.

Bo Jackson was a similiar case, he knew all along that football not track was his future so he put little into track. Bo has a 10.33 PR, if not for football he's a 10.15 for sure, which is freaky being a 220 pounder.

The fastest Panther ever was Michael Bates the KR, he was an Olympic 200m bronze medalist with a 10.11 100M PR.

    Track and field[edit]

Ginn was also a standout track athlete for the Cleveland (OH) Glenville track team. As a junior, he became the national champion in the 110 meter hurdles and recorded the best time in the nation as a senior when he won the state le for the second consecutive year. He captured the state le in the 200 meters in a time of 21.51 seconds, after posting a time of 21.44 seconds in the preliminary rounds. He also helped the Cleveland (OH) Glenville track team to take the 4 x 400 metres relay crown in a time of 3:15.04 minutes. He was timed at 10.5 in the 100 meters as a high school junior. As a senior, he ran the 60 meter hurdles in 7.98 seconds, 200 meters in 21.16 seconds, 400 meters in 46.57 seconds and posted personal bests of 13.26w seconds and 13.40 seconds in the 39" 110 meter hurdles[2][3][4]

Respect playa. Are you referring to Kuechly or Norman?

Stewart won't play against ATL and probably won't play against Tampa.

your opponent will come out of the NFC Least. Only team that should scare you is the Giants, but unless they win out and get a lot of help it's either going to be the Eagles or Redskins, both of which should be easy pickings.

    - Kurt Coleman (8 INT's), Ted Ginn Jr. (800 yards, 10 TD's), and Jonathan Stewart (1000 yards rushing) aren't playing this weekend. We saw without Ted Ginn how much our offense struggled against ATL without him. If Newton is the MVP he will have to step up, but so will our receivers. That means Philly Brown, Devin Funchess and Jerricho Cotchrey. Trey Boston will start at safety... he looked pretty promising last year at the end of the year.

But no doubt I'm a bit worried. I still take our team over any team in the BoA stadium. I've embraced the underdog role.

. TB doesn't really give a at this point but might like to the Panthers over for HFA. Arizona has an easy one I'm pretty sure.

Jonathan Stewart, Kurt Coleman, and Ted Ginn Jr. are all practicing with full participation today. All are cleared to play.

Obviously the injuries that occurred with Bene Benwikere and Charles Tillman are my main concern for this game. McClain played well with his limited playing time, even getting an interception last week, and Finnegan has played well as the nickel for the most part. Still, they are going to be tested against a very good QB with elite playmaking abiliity. They will be crucial in getting a victory Sunday. Norman and Coleman should hold down Baldwin for the most part when he's not in the slot.

Another key will be our defensive line getting pressure on Wilson. The offensive line was not impressive last week against the Vikings for Seattle, but our aging defensive ends have not shown up before last week in a while. Whether you adapt that to Rivera's stinginess to play vets like Charles Johnson and Jared Allen over players like Kony Ealy or Mario Addison is debatable, but I think all four need to show up against Seattle. I have a feeling the vets will have a good game. Kawann Short had 3 sacks last game against Seattle.

Obviously Newton will need to play well, but another big match for us is the receiver group against the defensive backs for Seattle. I think Funchess has the toughness to get some catches, and of course Olsen will probably show Chancellors weakness against TE's this game, but either Ted Ginn or Philly Brown are going to have to show up to open up the whole field. Ginn will need to show up, something he has done, but not quite shown consistency in.

All this being said, I think we are the better team this year. Our defense has shown lapses, but have made that up with their amazing turnover rate. Our running game has been so productive this year and our offensive line is doing what they need to do to help. Throw all that out the window against Seattle. This one is a toss-up and frankly the team with the ball last will probably win the game. I'm going with Carolina in a close one.

There was Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers looking very average, it was....what's wrong with Rodgers...as they staggered into the playoffs. Then here come the playoffs, and a switch gets flipped. Aaron Rodgers has won a SB, he gets it.

Big Ben has won SB's, when it came time to win a game, he did.

Alex Smith is a far better QB than Hoyer, looked what happened.

Seattle has been in two SB's in the last two seasons, the Vikes haven't done anything recently, who choked?

These Panthers have never played in a SB, they don't have the same amount of THE BIG GAME experience, while Seattle is used to it, they expect it. We can't ignore this, that is a big deal. Don't get too caught up in 15-1, that was done vs the 27th ranked schedule in the league. Look at Houston/Washington, how did they make the playoffs.....weak divisions.

In the RW era, the Seahawks have owned the Panthers, 4-1, and that one was lost in the last 30 seconds without Bpbby Wagner playing. I gotta go with the team that has excelled in these big games and owns a 4-1 advantage.

In the CN era they are 1-2 in the playoffs. That pales in comparison to the 7-2 that Seattle has.

Did ya know Panthers are one of the worst teams in the league coming off a bye week? They just had a week off.

Now add the last time these two teams played in the playoffs(2015) Seattle wins 31-17.

So we have the Seahawks who are a more successful playoffs team playing a team they were 30 seconds away from being 5-0 against.

Seattle in this round of the playoffs.

2012...lost at Atlanta by 2 (lost inthe last seconds)
    2013...beat Saints 23-15
    2014...beat Carolina 31-17

Playoff experience and success does. Seattle has played in two SB in the last two seasons, Carolina not even close. There is a reason for that.

    Well lets see little man...

    2012..won 1
    2013..won 2 before beating Denver.

So they had three playoff wins, that's two more than Carolina has.

What's stupid is ignoring the fact the Seahawks have owned the Panthers and are a far more experienced big game team.

The question was how many playoff wins before wnning the SB, that would be three.

The Seahawks lost a playoff game in the final seconds, then the following season they won it all.

The Panthers lost to the Niners in 2013, then beat the Cards in 2014 before losing to the Seahawks.

You see that as being similiar?

Jared Allen was very emotional about being deactivated for the game. He thought he could play today with a fractured foot. He will be there if we make it to the SB.

Jonathan Stewart will play with a injured ankle. He said it was minor.
