Simmons gave a good postgame. Pop is clearly letting him stay on the floor and do his thang. I know some people have commented that Pop was gonna be pissed at him. But it sure looks like Pop knows exactly who/what Simmons is, and he's letting him go get it. He's going to make mistakes, but he's also going to give opponents' second-team defenses nightmares. If he can learn to start using that penetration to suck in defenders, and kick out to make teammates look good, he'll be dangerous.

I'm not staying up for grades and stuff this time. But one thing I'll mention about tonight (and last game). I'm getting pretty sick of watching Pau not crash the boards. There were at least 3-4 times in both games when he just stood and watched balls that he probably could have gotten to, and didn't even move toward them. Maybe he's pacing himself in games that are under control. But it sure looks like he just doesn't give a . If the ball doesn't come his way, he doesn't even try.

So far the game is coming easy to this team. But they are going to get challenged, and those kinds of bad habits are contagious. He needs to understand Spurs culture, and that the best players have to set an example with effort, and not just talent/height. I can live with him getting beaten on defense, or missing shots. But lack of hustle? Not so much.

Kawhi Leonard said he didn’t know where the rumor came from, but he DID NOT work out with Kobe Bryant this summer.

Thanks for posting that. It always amazes me when so many people speak with such conviction about something that never even happened.

I'm getting sick of watching SloMo mess even the basic things up (open shots, basic defense and switches)

Kyle is a 30th draft pick, who is just starting the third year of a rookie contract. Pau is supposed to be a star in the league. He knows what to do - he's just not giving the effort on the boards. Pop needs to jump his ass just like he always did with the Big 3. He can't leave him on the floor being lackadaisical, IMO.

    Pau definitely looks lazy, statuesque.
