How can you know how we would look with last year team minus Kawhi when that didn't happen last year? The Spurs' good record without Kawhi last season is solely based on Pop picking the easiest games to rest him. The only time he missed an extended peridod of time because of injury, the Spurs got swept.
And the West didn't really get that much better. Rockets, Thunder and Wolves are all playing mediocre ball (just like the Spurs sans Kawhi).
You are just overreacting and are now all over the place looking for weak arguments to try and justify an emotional outburst, tbh.
Wow a troll getting emotional after he's been outed.
Although who knows what roles they will play in the postseason (Murray needs to continue to develop, Kyle has to shoot the 3) both are better simply bc Kyle has already scored and done more against good teams in this short season than he had a chance to do all last season until he did it in the playoffs. Murray basically the same. They didn't get enough opportunities to really judge... A lot of garbage time, and the occasional game they got into bc there were injuries or Pop wanted some kind of different energy, but playing regularly does a lot for a player's confidence and ability to push through slumps. Examples: 50 Mills, Bryn Forbes not breaking out until this particular game, game 9th of the season. Kyle just had a 16/7/4/2/1 line against the dubs last night guarded by Durant. He just wasn't doing that last season until he did it once in the playoffs and guys dismissed it. He's had a double double and closed out the Wolves in the season opener. Dijon had a tremendous double double and seems more mature at times. He's still just 21 and will get better as the season goes on with experience, practices, coaching, etc. Forbes is better bc he developed balls. He was too shy shooting last season.
But it's really Mills and Manu that had been slumping bad, the team was missing their production. They will be fine once Kawhi gets back... I think you forget just how dominant Kawhi is. Once he comes back I am sure Kyle will get a lot of criticism bc everything all of a sudden will come to life, but it's not on Kyle... you swap any backup wing for an MVP it just won't be the same.
I liked Jsimms and would have wanted him back, but again... see above. Tired of the subject.
ElNono who was that idiot popping the collar of his Argie jersey?
A popped collar is, alongside sunglasses indoor, the ultimate sign of a bag, tbh.
Emotional outburst? I've been saying this team would be a borderline playoff team at best since July and my opinion of the team has only gotten worse with Kawhi's injury.
You can't use the WCF to judge how last year's team would play without Kawhi since they were playing the Dubs, but when Kawhi sat last season the Spurs were beating the EC dregs they've lost to so far this season.
The West did get better than last season; we're talking about multiple Top 40 players joining playoff teams from last year or teams that made trades last year getting even more time to gell. The Thunder, T'Pups, and Rockets will obviously need time to gel before they get rolling; , how many times do posters around here talk about how the Spurs' new pieces need time to play together before taking off? The only bad teams in the West this year are the Lakers, Suns, Mavs, and Kings. The rest should be at least decent.
Agreed, tbh.
Well, I'm tired of arguing this. Do you wanna bet something? If Kawhi gets back, and isn't all season in and out with injuries, the Spurs will make it at least to the second round.
I'll take it my friend. Victory!![]()

Gambit1990, If you have something to say to me, why don't you just use your main account instead of hiding behind these silly, unfunny, deadbeat troll accounts? Let's talk some more Paddy.....![]()
The problem with this team is not if they are better than last year's team...but the perspective.
Too much money to Mills and Pau...that means they take a lot of the cap for some years and that they're not valuable trading pieces.
Too little improvement, at least at the moment, from two potential starters like Murray (looks he didn't use the summer to solve his main problems, see outside shot and high dribbling) and Kyle (better than last year but still too tentative for been the offensive weapon he could be considering his play making and advantage in highness over most of his opponents).
The fact that the bright spots, not including the clear improvement in Green (contract year?) and the sos ution of Simmons with Gay (who's clearly a better and more reliable and versatile player than the former, also considering he's still not 100 per cent), are from guys absolutely new to the system (Lauvergne and Paul) or relatively new (Forbes, who was an end of the bench player last year) and not guys more experienced with the team (Bertans).
However is too early to judge, the situation, as for now, looks a little confusing...
Somebody needs to merge the 3rd quarter Rudy explosion with the "No! Not this guy" audio.![]()
Nah, I never bet against the Spurs; its just bad juju for me to bet against teams I root for. If the Spurs get the right match up they could definitely get to the second round. Been saying I think the Spurs still beat Houston since_'Antoni. Don't think they beat OKC, the Clippers, or the Guests in a series though.
That I could agree with. In fact, I have said it many times. Mills and Pau's contract were huge mistakes that handicap the future of the franchise. But that's another argument. For this season, I strongly disagree that this team is in jeopardy of not making the playoffs.
I will mention Lee was very significant to the team last year. I haven't seen enough of Lauvergne to really compare. Season is young still.
Anyone trying to really extrapolate anything based on a 9 game sample size is illogical tbh especially without 3 of our main guys.
The irony a troll calling me a troll. Actually this is my only account. I have been posting under this account for over 10 years. You can look it up. Let's talk more about your stupid ass prediction of the Spurs losing to the Grizzlies in the first round. I would hope for your sake that you are a troll since since your basketball takes tend to be pretty ty. It's very obvious you don't know about the game.
