Finley needs to go. Seriously. He needs to be burried on the end of hte bench because right now he's a huge negative on this team. It's not that he doesn't add anything to this team, its that he's subtracting so god damn much when he's on the court.
Duncan's gonna get his season ending injury in a few games, thus making us lose 80 percent of our next games, then we get the top draft pick and get Oden, only to make the 07-08 season our reign back into dominance.

More likely we are going to see the team continue to slide as the Spurs wallow in this purgatory between trying to win it all and avoiding committing much to build the supporting cast.
87 - Robinson
97 - Duncan
07 - ???
spurs do not need oden
they need duncan to rebound the ball
nice o game but you are 7 foot 9 rebounds..
Fo Needs To Make A ing Trade.
Bruce plays good solid defense, still. He just no longer has that extra something that bothers the elite scorers and throws them off a little bit.
And without that, he doesn't add enough in other areas of the game to be effective anymore.
I just can't believe we're shocked that a 36-year-old perimeter player has lost a step. The Spurs should have seen this coming for years. For years, even folks on this forum have been railing on the need for a long 3, because Bowen was getting up there in age.
And now he's old, and has lost a step, and can't make the difference on defense.
The same sort of thing applies to other players in the Spurs' rotation.
Oh, well, at least Holt got his luxury tax dividends. And three les aren't too bad.
Once upon a time, Tim Duncan was promised that the front office would put a surrounding cast around him every year that at least would make the Spurs contenders. That was his condition for staying in San Antonio.
I wonder how Tim would look in purple and gold, next to Kobe and Lamar Odom?
pop is not doing aa great job
A trade isn't going to cut it. This team is not one player away right now. They're really way further back than that. This team right now is a borderline 2nd round playoff team. With an unfavorable matchup (and in the West thats likely) I'm not sure they can win a 7 game series.
Play James White already...regardless of what he has yet to learn, he can't do worse than these guys...especially Finley and Beno. At least he would play his ass off and match some of the athleticism on other teams.
Oh, and trade someone please. The bench is bad and unreliable.
Hmm... Grant Hill's contract is expiring... maybe Tim could give Orlando another look.
And one of the best NBA arena deals to boot.
Exactly. Not hard to see why TD seems a little disinterested this year. Any true compe or would be when he knows his commitment is not shared by the organization.Once upon a time, Tim Duncan was promised that the front office would put a surrounding cast around him every year that at least would make the Spurs contenders. You'd be surprised.Play James White already...regardless of what he has yet to learn, he can't do worse than these guys
Play all 48 minutes. Its thats ing simple right now Spurs.
What's going to cut it? The spurs have completely lost their edge that was always there to will them through many games. This lineup needs some kind of shake up and could even get blasted out of the first round.
Simply pathetic
While I don't understand Pop not calling a time out, I also would expect professional NBA players will years of experience to know what all the viewers knew.
Looking at them tonight, I don't even think a trade would help. If we had done the Corey Magette trade, you think he would have helped the Spurs win tonight? I highly doubt that...
Part of the reasons Pop has such horrible rotations is because he has no idea who to go to! NO ONE is playing well consistently for the Spurs, including Tim Duncan. No one is playing with any passion, including Manu Ginobili. No one is setting great plays up for 48 minutes, including Tony Parker. No one is playing smart basketball, including Robert Horry. No one is playing great defense for 48 minutes, including Bruce Bowen.
Look at the Mavs...have they gotten complacent with a 7 game win streak?
Look at the Suns...have they gotten complacent with a 15 game win streak?
I don't care if you have 3 championships and an Annual Rodeo trip coming up in which you usually "turn it around." You shouldn't have to wait for an 8 game road trip to get you to play motivated basketball.
I am beginning to wonder how more than just Tim feels about what the front office has done lately.
You know i have taken it easy on the Spurs this year so far but this effort makes me want to beat my ing head against a wall so hard i'll have to file for disability. They said it during the telecast where the is the hardnose effort for 48 min they only start playing when they are down big. Lets review tonights game here, MANU SUCKED, TONY SUCKED and oh yeah as usual THE BENCH SUCKED. The only guy who earned his ing gamecheck was Timmy, we are in trouble heading into this trip.
why some of you are blaming Duncan for losing this game? 37 pts, 10 rebounds people
how about our men in the middle? Elson & Horry?
Parker who came alive too late, & Finley?
and will at least can explain to me why Pops chose to sit Oberto so early in the game when obviously he was having an early big game tonight?
BTW, is Bowen getting old?
That is correct. They looked lost and scared on that possesion.
