Just in case if you don't know: Urlep (coach of polish team) is also Slovenian. With him Slovenia achieved worst place in Euro-championships ever (14th).

Don't get me wrong. It's not like I'm trying to defend E. Lorbek. His game, and game from Laković made me puke.
Coach Pipan had to make some decisions for last 5 minutes and he made them.
Fact is that in the end of the games Rasho is a liability because of his ridiculous free throw percentage.
But,I do wonder why Rasho didn't get any minutes at the begining of the last QT, because his game was ROCK SOLID.
Italians would foul him with or without a ball in his hands. On the other hand Lorbek is known for his offensive abilities. Slovenian team has problems scoring under pressure (we got a lot of evidence in previous years), so Pipan tried to do something different. It didn't work, but he tried and that counts in my book.
On the other hand Lakovič is repeating same mistakes over and over again. His lack of vision is getting beyond stupid. His desission making isn't questionable any more, it just BAD.
His mistakes are rookie mistakes. And I have a high school rookie in mind.
If he missed that last shot, his teammates would have killed him in the tunnel. Lucky bas .

I agree with most of that, I just feel Pipan should have reacted more to what was going on in the last 4 minutes.

Since we were not scoring we should have protected the lead better at the end - that's why I agree with Ata that Rasho should have been put in the game.

I see your point, I just can't find any sence of playing "hack-a-Shaq" tactics on Rasho. He wouldn't be our prime offensive option, and would rare touch tha ball (OR only).

It is not so uncommon to have foreigner for coach in european national teams (basketball, soccer, hockey etc.).
Our current hockey national team coach is Ted Sator from USA.

After being banished from Slovenia, he went coaching one of the Polish clubs and he's been in Poland ever since. They like him for some reason.

Im in Graz and have no way of watching it now.

And damn rtv even shows everything (interviews etc) and just before the tipoff they have an announcment that they wont broadcast the game itself.
